The Ultimate Elsie Silver Reading Guide
If you’re here, chances are you’re about to fall in love with Elsie Silver’s small-town romances—and honestly? You’re in for a ride. She writes swoony, steamy, unputdownable books filled with grumpy cowboys, single dads, and badass heroines who give as good as they get. Whether you’re new to her books or trying to figure out which one to grab next, I’ve got you covered.
Where to Start? (A Quick Overview of Her Books)
Elsie has two main completed series (plus a new one in progress!), and while they are loosely connected, you don’t have to read them in order. That said, if you love interconnected characters and those little Easter eggs that make small-town romance extra cozy, you might want to follow the suggested order.
- Gold Rush Ranch Series – Horse racing, high stakes, and romance with a little spice
- Chestnut Springs Series – Cowboys, small-town drama, and so much tension
- Rose Hill Series – Single dads, second chances, and all the heart eyes
Elsie Silver’s Books in Order (by Series)

Gold Rush Ranch Series (A Hidden Gem!)
This series is set in the world of horse racing—think high stakes, gorgeous barns, and even hotter romance.
- Off to the Races – Billionaire horseman + firecracker heroine = sparks everywhere
- Out of the Gate (Novella) – Best friends to lovers with ALL the tension. This novella is available by signing up to Elsie Silver’s newsletter.
- A Photo Finish – Secret online romance meets real-life awkwardness
- The Front Runner – Slow burn perfection with a tortured hero

Chestnut Springs Series (Fan Favorite!)
This series follows the Eaton brothers and their wild, messy, swoony love lives in Chestnut Springs, a small town in Alberta, Canada. If you love grumpy cowboys, steamy tension, and a mix of small-town charm with some serious angst, start here!
- Flawless – Bull rider with a PR problem + the woman hired to fix it = uh-oh
- Heartless – Single dad, grumpy rancher, falls for the nanny (you already know how good this one is)
- Powerless – Childhood friends to lovers, road trip, secret pining… say less
- Reckless – Surprise Vegas wedding? Check. Forced proximity? Check. Absolute chaos? Absolutely.
- Hopeless – She’s back in town, he’s always been in love with her, and now they have to fake a relationship. Oops.

Rose Hill Series (The New One!)
A fresh series set in a picturesque town where single dads and lost souls find their happily-ever-afters.
- Wild Love – Billionaire on a break + hometown girl = inevitable romance
- Wild Eyes – Country star hiding from the spotlight meets grumpy horse trainer
- Wild Side (Coming March 4, 2025) – Marriage of convenience (yes please!)
- Wild Card (Coming September 9, 2025) – Final book in the series. Details TBD, but you know it’ll be good
FAQs (Because I Know You’re Wondering…)
Do the series connect?
Yes! If you want to catch all the little connections, here’s the best reading order:
- Gold Rush Ranch – Some side characters from this series show up in Chestnut Springs, so reading it first gives you a little extra context.
- Chestnut Springs – This is Elsie’s most popular series and where a lot of readers start.
- Rose Hill – Loosely connected to Chestnut Springs but totally fine to read on its own!
That said, the books are designed to be read as standalones, so you won’t be lost if you start in the middle of a series! The connections are fun, but they don’t affect the main plots.
What’s the best series to start with?
It depends on what you’re in the mood for!
- If you want the best reading experience with all the connections, start with Off to the Races (Gold Rush Ranch #1) and work your way through.
- If you just want to dive into the hype, Flawless (Chestnut Springs #1) is a great starting point—it’s Elsie’s most popular book.
- If you’re in the mood for single dads, small-town vibes, and grumpy sunshine, Wild Love (Rose Hill #1) is perfect!
Do I have to read them in order?
Nope! Every book is a standalone with its own couple, so you can pick whatever trope or setup sounds best to you and jump in. The suggested order is just for those who love spotting the connections between books.
