A Wicked Kind of Husband by Mia Vincy
Read this if you are in the mood for: a marriage of convenience becoming very inconvenient, lots of family drama and a bit of scandal, plus some hilarious witty banter between the hero and heroine.
Lady Avery and the False Butler by Sofi Laporte
I have been reading historical romance for a long time, and yet. AND YET. I don’t think I have read a single one where the butler was anything more than a secondary character. Have I been missing a whole genre of butler romances? Because I loved it and I want more.

Lady Beast’s Bridegroom by Jude Knight
Retellings aren’t usually my cup of tea, but a gender swapped Beauty and the Beast story in a historical romance just can’t be passed up. Our heroine has been horrifically scarred and wears a mask to cover the damage. Our hero is one of the most beautiful, and impoverished, gentleman in the ton. They enter into an arranged marriage they both benefit from. It was such a lovely story, there was big friends to lovers energy, as despite sexy times happening fairly early, you can see the emotional connection grow as the book progresses.

Plucked by the Orc by Jenna Larkin
Carnival Row meets My Fair Lady in this whimsical Regency monster romance. Iris Gabbert, a feisty flower girl, meets the gruff (and orc) Lord Barrington. He challenges himself to transform her into a lady fit for society, leading to unexpected desire and a sweet romance.
Her Baseborn Bridegroom by Alice Coldbreath
This medieval romance features a heroine who’s been convinced by her evil family that she’s too ill to leave her tower. When a gruff war hero shows up, she asks him to marry her, leading to a possessive, protective romance. It’s a slow-burn love story with a twist on the classic grumpy hero and sunshine heroine trope. Think of it as a modern-day Julie Garwood romance, without the problematic elements.

Something Extraordinary by Alexis Hall
A gay baronet and a romance-averse friend team up to escape unsuitable marriages in Regency England. What starts as a chaotic runaway journey to Gretna Green becomes a story of chosen family, hilarity, and realizing who you want by your side forever.

To Protect by Cecelia Mecca
A knight torn between duty and love risks it all for a fierce lady’s maid in this medieval tale of forbidden romance and political intrigue. With a kingdom in chaos and hearts on the line, their dangerous mission threatens everything they hold dear.

The Darkest Waltz by Ashley R. King
In 1927, a bootlegging queen strikes a dangerous deal: a marriage of convenience with a mysterious heir. On his cursed, isolated island, Evangeline uncovers dark family secrets, eerie visions, and a deadly legacy—all while falling for the man who may destroy her. A gothic, romantic thriller with haunting twists.
