Winter Sports Romance Books to Read While You Watch the Games
I’m the kind of person who will watch the Olympics no matter what season it is. Summer, winter, give me the opening ceremony and I’m in. But if I’m being honest? I secretly prefer the Winter Olympics, and it’s not even close. Something about the drama of a clean routine, the precision, the speed, the pressure… figure skating is one of my favorite things to watch, full stop.
And this year feels like it’s going to be extra fun to read alongside. The Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics run February 6-22, 2026, which means the build-up is perfect for seasonal reading that hits just right.
Plus, coming off the success of Heated Rivalry, and that little Olympics wink, I can already feel the appetite for “winter games” energy getting louder. I know I’ll be leaning into it. How about you?
Over the years I’ve read a lot of sports romance, but there are a few authors I instinctively reach for when Olympic season rolls around. Keira Andrews is one of my go-tos every single time, and I’ve already slotted Kiss and Cry into my Winter Olympics reading because it’s basically “Heated Rivalry… but make it figure skating.” Which is, unfortunately for my productivity, completely my catnip.
So here’s my Winter Sports Romance roundup, organized by sport. After you watch some on TV, you’ll want to jump right into these.

Figure Skating Romance Books

Kiss and Cry by Keira Andrews
Enemies to lovers in an Olympic training center, with grumpy/sunshine friction and the kind of ache that builds every time they share ice time. If you love high stakes + emotion you can feel in your chest, start here.
Tell Me How You Hate Me by Cali Melle
A pair forced to skate together to win despite history, resentment, and that inconvenient spark that refuses to stay buried. It’s tense and that line between rivalry and attraction is thin… and getting thinner.

It’s a Love/Skate Relationship by Carli J. Corson
A hockey player needs a second chance; a figure skater needs a partner. Four months to train, and the friction is chef’s kiss. Sapphic enemies to lovers with a figure skating competition goal at the center.

How I’m reading this during the Game
I’m basically planning to match my reading to what I’m watching, skating on skating days, hockey on hockey days, snow sports when I’m already in the mood to watch someone launch themselves off a mountain at terrifying speed.
If you have a winter sport romance I have to add (especially one of the more unique sports), tell me what it is so I can add to my TBR.
And if you want even more books to add to your TBR, check out more sports romances or Winter books.
