What Is the Urban Legends Nights Paranormal Readathon?
Urban Legends Nights is the final readathon for Romanceopoly 2025, but here’s the good news: you don’t have to be doing the challenge to join. It’s a low-pressure, high-vibes way to wrap up your reading year with something fun, spooky, and maybe a little chaotic. Whether you’ve hit your reading goals or ghosted them back in July…you’re still invited.
Readathon Dates: December 15-21, 2025
The Prompts:
- Vampire Den – Read a vampire romance
- Legends Illuminated – Read a book with mythology or mythological creatures
- Academia After Dark – Read a book set in a school/college or featuring a teacher
- Pumpkin Spice Tales – Read a book with brown, purple, or black on the cover
- Boxing Night – Read a book with a boxer or character in combat sports
- Twilight Masquerade – Read a paranormal holiday romance or something with a masquerade
You can mix, match, and double (or triple) up your picks. This is your readathon, your rules. One book can cover multiple prompts so if all you can manage is one paranormal cozy mystery with a purple cover and a sexy werewolf professor? That counts. If you find that book, let me know!
No check-ins, no sign-ups, no stress. Just pick your TBR and join the party.
Paranormal Readathon Book Recommendations for Urban Legends Nights 2025
You’ve got the prompts. You’ve got the dates. Now let’s build the dream TBR for the coziest, weirdest, most chaotic week of the year. Here are book recs for each of the Urban Legends Nights prompts:

Vampire Den – Read a vampire romance
A Warm Heart in Winter by J.R. Ward – Vampires. Holiday feels. Brotherhood angst. This emotional story features iconic couple Blay and Qhuinn and hits three prompts: Vampire Den, Pumpkin Spice Tales, and Twilight Masquerade.
Grab A Warm Heart in Winter on Amazon
Filthy Rich Vampires by Geneva Lee – Fake dating meets vampire social season, with a morally gray billionaire bloodsucker and a broke human cellist. Decadent, dangerous, and wildly addictive.
Grab Filthy Rich Vampires on Amazon
Hot for Slayer by Ali Hazelwood – A slayer with amnesia crashes on a vampire’s couch in this enemies-to-lovers short from the Scared Sexy Halloween romance collection.

Legends Illuminated – Read a book featuring mythology or mythological creatures
Wolf Caged by Felicity Heaton – Fae king kidnaps betrayed wolf shifter alpha. He’s obsessed, she’s resisting, and war is brewing. Rejected mates, mating heat, found family, and dark portal fantasy vibes.
Fierce Heart by Tara Grayce – A sweet and funny arranged marriage between a chatty human princess and an elf prince. Cozy political alliance fantasy with no spice and a ton of heart.
The Death-Made Prince by Lisette Marshall – A runewitch teams up with a necromancer to bring her dead lover back, uncovering secrets, Norse magic, and slow-burn enemies-to-lovers chemistry.
Grab The Death-Made Prince on Amazon

Academia After Dark – Read a book set in a school or with a teacher
Arcana Academy by Elise Kova – Magical tarot meets fake engagement at an elite academy. Forbidden love, royal politics, and criminal pasts collide. Also fits Pumpkin Spice Tales.
Touch of Frost by Jennifer Estep – Mythos Academy: where teens train with swords and fight magical chaos. This YA urban fantasy blends murder mystery, mythology, and enemies-to-lovers. Also this works for Legends Illuminated and Pumpkin Spice Tales.
Would you like to save this?
Nightshade by Autumn Woods – TikTok dark academia favorite: a scholarship student infiltrates an elite Scottish university to get revenge for her parents death and maybe falls for the enemy. Think Gothikana, but with more murder and rugby.
Pumpkin Spice Tales – Read a book with brown, purple, or black on the cover
- A Warm Heart in Winter by J.R. Ward
- Arcana Academy by Elise Kova
- Touch of Frost by Jennifer Estep
- Nightshade by Autumn Woods

Boxing Night – Read a book with a boxer or combat sports character
Fighting for Everything by Laura Kaye – PTSD, fight clubs, and a friends-to-lovers slow burn between a wounded Marine and his childhood best friend.
Until You’re Mine by Cindi Madsen – MMA comeback + little sister’s best friend + forced proximity.
Grab Until You’re Mine on Amazon
Outmatched by Kristen Callihan & Samantha Young – Ex-boxer + fake dating + grumpy x polished opposites. Banter and tension for days.

Twilight Masquerade – Read a paranormal holiday romance or a book with a masquerade
Vampire in a Pear Tree by Katie MacAlister – Holiday novella chaos: druids, dragons, ancient gods, and cranky ravens.
Grab Vampire in a Pear Tree on Amazon
The Alien Nanny for Christmas by Amanda Milo – Single mom hires a live-in alien nanny. Sweet, spicy, and very weird.

Claimed by the Alien Bodyguard by Tiffany Roberts – Seven-foot alien saves Christmas (and steals hearts) in this spicy holiday novella with a single mom heroine.

Francesca’s Urban Legends Nights TBR
I’m keeping it chill but chaotic this year with some shorter books and a mix of campy, cozy, and a little unhinged. Here’s what I’m reading:

Better Off Red by Rebekah Weatherspoon – Vampire sorority + queer romance + six bloodthirsty demons = one wild freshman year. This checks off Vampire Den, Pumpkin Spice Tales and Academia After Dark.
Rescuing Krampus by Robin Jo Margaret – He’s literally Krampus. She’s the sweet human who finds him unconscious in the woods. It’s weird, it’s wintery, it’s hitting both Twilight Masquerade and Legends Illuminated.
Grab Rescuing Krampus on Amazon
Cross the Line by S. Massery & S.J. Sylvis – Step-sibling angst + college fighter + forced proximity = spicy new adult. Works for Academia After Dark and Boxing Night.

I’m hoping to read at least one or two books for this fun theme. Your lists gave me some ideas.
Oh yay I’m glad the list was helpful. And hopefully you find a couple that fit multiple prompts. I think this may be one of the easiest for that from all the seasonal events this year.
