Yes… I cannot remember what it was called – it was a piece of erotic romance – I read it almost 20 years ago – their was a young woman learning to be… I think an opera singer and her older, more experienced female mentor introduces her to a dildo… they filled it with milk….

Author Susan Johnson uses them multiple times in her historicals! I want to say she calls them a Jade.

Yes! I have read books with toys. Sarah McCarty’s Hell’s Eight series. Really steamy historicals set in Texas in the 1800s.
I have read some of the series Heather! I haven’t read all of them and I have read them completely out of order but I haven’t come across any sex toys, I am definitely going to picking up that series again soon!

It seems to me that in some of Bertrice Small’s historicals (I think is was part of the Skye O’Malley Series) there were sex toys used. I believe it was in some of the Byzantine harems that Skye ended up in. For being older historical romance her books were REALLY HOT.
I forgot to add that Bertrice’s books are what hooked me on romance in my youth.

I can’t remember the title but yes, I’ve read one in the last year where the heroine is giving a glass dildo by a john. He liked to watch her use it. There was no touching between them. It was a great book but I can’t remember what the damn title was.

The only one I can think of right off the top of my head was a Regency romance where the heroine was supposed to be a prostitute, but there was only 1 little problem (she was a virgin). I can’t think of the name but I read a book where the couple had a little game of touchy feely in a bathtub.
