I read three brand-new 2025 dark Halloween romance books that are so perfect for the season, and I’ve added them to the top of this unhinged list. They’re the kind of books you finish and immediately text someone: “Read this so we can talk about how messed up it is.” Or just think to yourself… “Why am I like this???”

If you’re the type to rearrange your TBR after seeing a dedication that says, “For anyone who has ever wanted a masked man to fingerbang them against a haystack,” then welcome to your next read. Hi, that was also me.
A masked streamer. A corn maze. A girl who doesn’t know he’s been obsessed with her for years. Beg for It is short, filthy, and unhinged in all the right ways. I’ve read Madison Fox’s masked gamer series before, and this dark Halloween novella absolutely delivered on the blood, the spice, and the addictive tension. Just know… there’s no real resolution here, it feels like a setup for another book and I cannot wait.

I knew that voice like it was my own, but him being here was impossible.
If you miss the kink club vibes of classic erotic romance and love a good second-chance setup, Maybe This Time is a great quick hit. It’s set during a Halloween night party in the city, complete with masked strangers and moody lighting, and brings together childhood best friends who’ve clearly never stopped crushing on each other. Ezra left for culinary school, Talya stayed behind, and now he’s back and determined to finally get the girl.
This one’s got the emotion and the spice but still delivers on the tension. The soft boy persistence, and that touch of missed connection angst I love in a friends-to-lovers story. I’m also 100% ready for the sister’s book (with his friend??), and absolutely checking out her Moroccan mafia series next.
