By The Time You Read This I’ll Be Gone
by Stephanie Kuehn

Series: Murder, She Wrote #1
Release date: 13 September

retelling | cozy mystery

So, this isn’t exactly a retelling, so much as a…continuing, based on the TV series Murder, She Wrote. Maybe it’s just my age showing, even though the TV programme first aired 2 years before I was born, but to me Murder, She Wrote, is the queen of both daytime TV and murder mysteries. It centres around the Angela Lansbury’s character Jessica Fletcher, who just happens to find herself in the vicinity of every murder that takes place in Maine, USA. Or wherever she is visiting. What else can one do in these circumstances, but become an amateur sleuth?

But, back to the book! in By The Time You Read This I’ll Be Gone the main character is Jessica Fletcher’s young niece. And it seems as though she has inherited her aunts talent for sleuthing. Especially when one of her friends goes missing…
