FROM SUZANNE:

A survival guide for a British Summer:

1. Sunglasses – Protect our eyes from the blaring sunlight reflected back on us from the puddles
2. Umbrella – For those daily summer showers (read: torrential down pour)
3. Factor 50...just in case, we like to be optimistic
4. Beechems Cold & Flu Medicine
5. A good book to read in the lovely sunshine/whilst taking shelter in Starbucks from the pouring rain (delete as appropriate)
To get the first four you just need to visit your local Sainsbury’s, however, here are some recommendations for a good read, come rain or shine (and if you live in the UK you know we are going to get both this summer and lets face it more of the former!)
I have been banging on about this book a bit, but I did really enjoy it and is bound to leave you smiling and even if the weather isn’t sunny, at least you disposition will be! So go ahead and give Penny Reid’s Neanderthal Meets Human: A Smart Girl Romance a go.
If you want something that gets your heart racing and adrenaline pumping with a fast paced plot and some action why not try something a bit different than your normal summer read and pick up Alice in Zombieland by Gena Showalter.

FROM ANGELA:

When I think of “summer” reads, I think of sexy or light and fluffy books. So, for this summer, I will recommend books from those genres.

For the sexy reads; I recommend IF I WERE YOU and BEING ME from the INSIDE OUT TRILOGY by Lisa Renee Jones. I also highly recommend THE PROPOSITION by Jennifer Lyon which I recently finished and thoroughly enjoyed. These books are definitely steamy, packed with suspense factor and has sexy alpha males to drool over. I can guarantee that these books will leave you hot and ready… for the summer heat, of course

For the “light and fluffy” read, I recommend SUMMER IN NAPA by Marina Adair. This one is a small town foodie romance that will make you laugh, love and sizzle your summer all in one read! And last is another small town contemporary, SUGAR SPRINGS by Kim Law. This novel will tug at your heartstrings right from beginning to end.

FROM ANNIE:

Summer is a time to get hot, sweaty and dirty. So what better way than to celebrate summer with dirty talkers!

Here are some of my personal faves:

ON DUBLIN STREET by Samantha Young – Braden says things like “You’re sexy as fuck” at dinner. He is possessive, growly and did I mention possessive?

The Beyond series by Kit Rocha – Take.your.pick! This series is filled to the brim with hotties! My favorites at the moment are Dallas and Ace, but I’m sure that will change as the series continues. Here’s a taste of Dallas dirty talk: “You want it rough and raw,” he rasped in a low whisper. “I’ll give you that, love. I’ll give you the fucking world.” Mmm.

PROTECTING WHAT’S HIS by Tessa Bailey – Bailey does not hold back on the dirty talk. Her heroes have the filthiest mouths I’ve read in awhile.

These quotes from the book bare repeating: “The longer it takes me to get between your thighs, the rougher I’m going to be when I finally get there. Understand?”
And one more:
“Do you feel that, baby? That’s your man moving inside you”
Unf!

I may need a moment to air out my downtown area.

FROM FRANCESCA:

Much like Angela, summer reads for me are light and a bit fluffy with a touch of sexy.  I don’t want heavy angst or crazy suspenseful escapades.  So here are some of my recommendations as I try to give you all the major hottie heroes we love to read about, starting with the successful suit wearing millionaire, and then getting a bit dirtier with a fighter, some rock stars and a cowboy!

Tangled by Emma Chase – Don’t you just want a good laugh along with your sexual tension?  I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again, this book is awesome!  Starting with the fact that it’s from the hero’s POV and he is one hysterically deluded guy.  But oh is he sexy, and don’t we all love to see the womanizer change his ways?

Seducing Cinderella by Gina L. Maxwell – Ahhhh yes, my first fighter story!  This is one you are bound to love.  There’s a hot guy, the storyline of brother’s best friend and a sexy and fun romance.  What’s not to love?

Sinners on Tour by Olivia Cunning – With the upcoming release of the final book in this series, I’d highly recommend that if you haven’t started the series, you get to it now!  Nothing better to get you all sweaty in the summer than some hot rockstars, and now you can finally read this series in order!  And WICKED BEAT will not disappoint, just saying!

Redneck Romeo by Lorelei James – And because nothing makes you think sun and sweat like a hot cowboy, I fall back on the queen of all things western…Lorelei James!   Redneck Romeo is ohhh mmmmm good!

  1. I would recommend anything by Sandra Hill. She writes with such humor; she will make you laugh out loud at the antics of her characters.

  2. I’m all about catching up on my series right now, so I’d recommend Ever After by Kim Harrison (which I’m reading now), or Bitter Blood and Fall of Night by Rachel Caine (next on my list), or Shades of Earth by Beth Revis (whenever my husband hands it over)!

  3. A comfort read(like Nalini Singh) or something light and funny, ie: Sophia Nash(HR), Julie James and Jill Shalvis(Contemp), Kerrelyn Sparks(PNR).

Or, as I did, read all the books that you have scheduled to the mythical land of summer vacation 😀

  4. Is it bad that I want to read beach books all year long? I would recommend anything by Darynda Jones – they are funny and have great stories.

  5. Fool’s Gold books by Susan Mallery (just one kiss, two of a kind and three little words) and It Had to be You by Jill Shalvis

  6. Cherrie Lynn’s contemporary romance novels (Unleashed, Rock Me, Leave Me Breathless) are all AWESOME. The Edge of Never by JA Redmerski is also very very good! Oh and Her Mad Hatter by Marie Hall had me all kinds of emotional. Sigh…so many to choose from!

  7. If you haven’t read the Law of the Lycan series by Nicky Charles I would definitely recommend, and they are all free on Smaswhords, ITunes, B&N, and Amazon. And of course the Black Dagger Brotherhood and anything from Heather Killough-Walden. Thanks for the giveaway! 🙂

  10. Definitely the Beyond series by Kit Rocha and the Inside Out series by Lisa Renee Jones! For Contemporary reads, anything by Carly Phillips, Susan Elizabeth Phillips, or Rachel Gibson.

  11. I’m going to agree with Angela and recommend If I Were You and Being Me. Both are fantastic reads that are guaranteed to make you lose yourself.

  12. I have found a wonderful series by Kerrianne Coombes that puts a delightfully dark and sexy spin on classic fairy tales like Cinderella and Snow White.

  13. Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich– wicked mysteries, sexy love triangle, hilarious friends… Awesome time!

  14. There are so many great reads out there. These are a few of my favorites I will be rereading this summer. Fever series by Karen Marie Moning and Crossfire series By Sylvia Day. I also loved The Edge Of Never by J.A. Redmerski.
    Thanks for this great giveaway!

  15. I would suggest “The Mighty Storm” by Samantha Towle. It’s a fantastic read!
    Thanks for the giveaway!

  16. Anything by Jill Shalvis(especially her Lucky Harbor series and her Animal Magnetinsm series), Jennifer Crusie(especially Bet Me and Anything But You), and Kristan Higgins(especially The Best Man).

  17. I just read Opposing Forces by Adrienne Giordano and LOVED it. It’s part of a series, but can be read as a stand-alone. It was so good, I bought the first 5 books in the series today so that I can read them this month.

  18. I am reading The Chocolate Touch by Laura Florand – it is an ARC copy – and it is really good. I have loved all of her other books. Also, Jill Shalvis, Susan Mallery & Carly Phillips all have or will have new books out that are great for a beach read!

  19. I am looking forward to the next book in the Siren series by Tiffany Reisz. I can hardly wait to find out what Nora is up to next.

  20. My picks for great summer reads (for myself) are Cheyenne Amber by Catherine Anderson; What the Duke Desires by Sabrina Jeffries; Courageous by Diana Palmer; Darkness Bred by Stella Cameron; The Final Cut by Catherine Coulter and J.T. Ellison; and finally, The Heist by Janet Evanovich and Lee Goldberg…a real mixture to keep me on my toes! Thanks for asking. 21. Lucky Harbor series by Jill Shalvis
Club Destiny series by Nicole Edwards
Don’t Hate the Player….Hate the Game! by Katie Ashley
Sinners on Tour series by Olivia Cunning

  22. I honestly don’t know what makes a good summer read, but that’s probably got a bit to do with how I am really NOT a summer person (I burn way too easily, and cannot deal when it gets too hot). So my recommendation is to find some really good aircon and read whatever you want 🙂 Like maybe some KMM or Kelley Armstrong books.

  23. Anything by Jill Shalvis or Carly Phillips are always good reads for the summer. Thanks for the giveaway!

  24. I’m catching up on reading series I bought and never got to …Elizabeth Ambers Lords of the Satyr at the moment…though I have pb’s for the beach (where I am for 2 months..yippee) Kit Rochas Beyond Shame.. I’m loving it and have a hard time not picking it up inbetween beach times….

  25. anything Cherise Sinclair. I just discovered her Masters of Shadowlands series and it’s awesome! 🙂

  26. It’s winter here, so something hot & steamy is what I need, Cherise Sinclair is one of my favs & also Lorelei James for some hot cowboy action.

  27. waiting for Nalini’s book to arrive in the post and have pre-ordered Affliction by Laurell Hamilton
    can’t wait!!

  28. My recommendations for good summer reads are the Lucky Harbor series by Jill Shalvis or the Fool’s Gold series by Susan Mallery.

  29. I live in the tropics where it’s hot n sunny all year round. Well hot anyway; even when it rains. Everyday is a good day for a summer read! I discovered a new author recently who writes sweet, light fantasy romance with a fairytale theme. Try Elizabeth Darcy’s Asleep (a reimagining of Sleeping Beauty but it’s the prince that is the “sleeping beauty” & the princess has to save him) or The Eye of the Beholder (a beauty and the beast story).

I’ll also happily read any Courtney Milan book.

  30. My summer picks are Connected by Kim Karr, Unbreak Me by Lexi Ryan, and Collide by Gail McHugh especially because Pulse comes out in August and your book hangover heartache won’t be as long as mine had been.

  31. I would reccomend Felicity Heaton’s Vampierotique series. Vampires, werewolves, witches, etc. Love it.

  32. Something funny? Tara Sivec’s Chocolate lovers series
Something Sexy? Knight series by Kitty French

  33. At the moment, the best recent book I have read was Darius by Grace Burrowes or Hidden Away/No Place to Run by Maya Banks. Maybe Hidden Away since much of it happens at a beach! Just thought of that. LOL

  34. Well, since 3 of my favorite authors release books in the summertime, I would have to say I will be reading them: J.R. Ward, Charlaine Harris, and Laurell K. Hamilton. Although I would classify NONE of these as light beach reading material. Thanks for the suggestions and the contest.

  35. I think for summer I recommand any book written by Jeaniene Frost, Patricia Briggs or Sherrilyn Kenyon.

  36. I recommend Violet Duke’s Resisting the Bad Boy for a light Summer read or the Camelot series by Ruthie Knox. Anything by Larissa Ione for the Paranormal fans of sexy Alpha’s who still enjoy a good laugh. And the Bridgertons series by Julia Quinn for Historical fans.

  37. I’ll be reading some of Linda Lael Miller’s, Suzanne Brockmann, Vicky Dreiling … I like to switch it up and cover all genre.

  38. Wow, these look so great and have definitely given me some more books to add to my reading list 🙂

  39. I agree with the Sinners on Tour books and maybe some Jill Shalvis, Rachel Gibson or Kristin Higgins. Fun summer books!

  40. I also agree with the Sinners on Tour Series, but would never be opposed to the rodeo whirlwind of Lorelei James’ Rough Rider series.

  41. She’s The One by Erin Nicholas or anything by her and anything by Robin Bielman. Both are fantastic authors and have written some great Summer reads. Also anything by Susan Mallery 😉 She’s pretty great too!

  42. I am currently re-reading/listen to the audiobooks of Shayla Black’s Wicked Lovers series!! HOT!!!

  43. I’m enjoying Entwined With You by Sylvia Day. Then I am on to Jill Shalvis’ It Had To Be You and waiting for the new one from Carly Phillips.

  44. Lucky Harbor series by Jill Shalvis, The Sullivan’s by Bella Andre. I think my summer read will be Kit Rocha Beyond series.

  45. I once read MacLean Curse series by Karen Hawkins during summer and it was such a funny and lovely series. I also always welcome a Julia Quinn book as a light, fun yet wonderful read, especially her Bridgertons series, the thought of them already melts my heart!

  46. I’m not picky when it comes to summer reads. I’m up for anything. I’d recommend Lynsay Sands’ Argeneau novels. They’re funny, sexy, and a quick read (in my opinion). Also Larissa Ione’s Demonica and Lords Of Deliverance series! Great, great, GREAT series!

  47. I’d suggest Cynthia Eden’s Fallen Angel series, Joan Swans FEVER series and Jennifer Lyon’s Plus One series.

  48. Kiss An Angel by Susan Elizabeth Phillips for a stand alone. Sweet, funny, contemporary romance and Red Stone Security series by Katie Reus for a hot, steamy read … to go along with the weather.

  49. Lara Adrian’s Midnight Breed series or Jeaniene Frost’s Night Huntress series. Both authors are great reads!! Thanks for all the great recommendations and the awesome giveaway!!

  50. I recommend the Alexa O’Brien huntress series from Trina M Lee. If u like paranormal romance this is for you! Great stories awesome characters twists, turns and a lil bit of hot and steamy!!

  51. I’d recomend The Raven Prince by Elizabeth Hoyt, it’s my favorite historical romance that I’ve read this year.

  52. You all already recommended so many of my favorites so I’ll go with Jill Shalvis’ Lucky Harbor series or Any of Ruthie Knox’s books they are all fantastic!

  53. I don’t have summer here at Indonesia, hot for all year, no vacation for me, lol! But I can recommend R.L. Matthewson Neighbour from Hell series for summer read. Hot and very funny 🙂
