Most Anticipated March 2026 Book Releases
If you’re coming out of a reading slump, March is a really good month to start again. It always feels like a soft reset. The days get a little longer, your brain starts pretending you’re about to become the kind of person who goes outside, and suddenly reading feels easier again. Or at least… you want it to.
So here’s my curated list of March 2026 book releases, the ones I think are most worth your attention. It’s a mix of enemies-to-lovers (in multiple flavors), romantasy with serious consequences, portal fantasy goodness, and a dash of dark romance and questionable decisions.

If you read nothing else: my Top 3 March 2026 book releases
If I had to pick three that feel the absolute must reads this month:
- This Kingdom Will Not Kill Me by Ilona Andrews because portal fantasy + political chaos is my weakness.
- Queen of the Night Sky by Amalie Howard because I enjoyed the first book and can’t wait to see where this goes next. Fast-paced, epic romantasy with Indian + Persian myth vibes? Say less.
- Game On by Navessa Allen if you want enemies-to-lovers, fake dating, morally grey characters, and banter with bite.
March 2026 Romantasy Book Releases

Ruinous Creatures by Jessi Cole Jackson
Romantasy debut with a super cool magic system: power comes from magical creature skulls, and our heroine accidentally wakes up phoenix skulls that were supposed to be a myth. There’s a vengeful guy with a mission, a matching ceremony, and an unbreakable bond sealed by one impulsive kiss.

Queen of the Night Sky by Amalie Howard
A kingdom saved, a former best friend/love interest turning corrupt, and a heroine whose magic is getting twisted by someone else’s control. Then she gets rescued on the back of a dragon-like creature and ends up in a new land with a deadly Night King who might be her fated mate. Also: it’s why-choose MFM romantasy with open-door spice.

Mayhem and the Mortal by Shanora Williams
One mission, one curse, and a guide who is a walking red flag. She has to cross a nightmare landscape to save her sister, and the only person who can get her through is a sorcerer/assassin with his own agenda. This feels like gritty romantasy with danger & betrayal. Plus true enemies to lovers.

Fantasy / Portal Fantasy March 2026 Book Releases

This Kingdom Will Not Kill Me by Ilona Andrews
The premise alone is addictive: she wakes up naked in a gutter inside her favorite unfinished fantasy series, so her only weapon is that she knows the plot better than anyone. Except the characters are real, the danger is real, and she can’t die (which makes things complicated when everyone else can). Expect political schemes, rival warlords. And honestly, it’s Ilona Andrews. Enough said.

Urban Fantasy March 2026 Book Releases

Only Spell Deep by Ava Morgyn
Dark witchy gothic vibes with Seattle bookstores, secret midnight invitations, and a magic source that’s literally an entity trapped and bound. She’s on the run from a power hungry witch, digging into generational trauma, and having to go back to the creepy family estate she swore she’d never return to. If you like atmospheric witch books, this looks delicious.

Paranormal Cozy Mystery Romance March 2026 Book Releases

Would you like to save this?
Magic and Mischief at the Wayside Hotel by Elizabeth Everett
This one feels like a warm hug with a little sparkle. A magical hotel gets stranded in a normal world and basically needs one human guest to reboot. Enter a single mom who clicks an apartment ad and ends up living with faeries, gargoyles, and a grumpy gnome roommate situation. It reads like perfect cozy escapism.

Contemporary Romance March 2026 Book Releases

Star Shipped by Cat Sebastian
This is for anyone who loves workplace enemies to lovers where the tension has had years to marinate. Two sci-fi TV costars who can’t stand each other agree to fake a public friendship, and then it turns into a road trip that forces them to actually… talk. It’s slow burn, prickly, and emotional.

The Starter Ex by Mia Sosa
A fake-dating setup that’s both ridiculous and weirdly genius: she’s basically a professional “starter ex” hired to make your crush look appealing by being the worst girlfriend imaginable. He needs someone his mom will hate. The rules are “no touching, no feelings,” which obviously means there will be touching and feelings. If you like banter + chemistry + a heroine who is so done with everyone, this looks perfect.

Love Song by Elle Kennedy
Lake house in Tahoe, a “bad idea” older guy she’s been hung up on for years, and that whole forbidden fling summer energy. It sounds like one of those stories that starts sweet and then punches you right in the feelings with the heartbreak. If you like emotionally messy nostalgia, this is your lane.
Historical Romance March 2026 Book Releases

Miss Wick and the Duke by Violet Marsh
A pirate’s daughter who runs a coffeehouse full of gossip + a shy, newly titled duke who needs her help finding his long-lost mother. There’s revenge baked in, there’s a mystery to solve, and there’s the very specific satisfaction of a heroine who thinks she hates the nobility… falling for the one honorable man in the room. Historical rom-com with secrets and chemistry.

Dark Romance / Rom-Com March 2026 Book Releases

Game On by Navessa Allen
If you like your romance dark but with banter that makes you laugh, this is the one. He’s out for revenge and uses her as part of the plan; she hates him on sight for threatening her family; and then they’re forced into fake dating in her rich world circles while everything spirals into hate/lust/feelings. Morally grey, messy in the best ways.
