I really enjoy Elizabeth’s stories and her covers are some of the best in the historical genre! Thanks for the highlight!
Oh, I totally agree! They’re stunning!
I have read the Princes Trilogy and the Legend Of The Four Soldiers series, but I haven’t read any of the Maiden Lane books. (I loved the other two series btw) After hearing your review of Duke Of Sin I’m thinking I really have to rectify that. Who can resist a blackmailing duke and woman intent on crossing him…
Let’s just say I added some books to my wishlist.
So happy you’re going to try out the Maiden Lane series! They are very fun and interesting. I especially LOVE the latter books in the series as Hoyt comes up with some very unique occupations for her characters. Can’t wait to see what you think!
I love the sound of Valentine Napier! Thanks for the rec Annie!
He’s SO amazing!!!
just finished wicked intentions….really liked it!
Yay! So glad to hear that! And trust me, the series gets so much more better as it goes on! Enjoy! x
This is one of my favorite series, and I’ve really been looking forward to Val’s story.
Mine too! He’s delicious! Let me know what you think when you read it
I haven’t read any books in the ‘Maiden Lane Series’, but I did win Sweetest Scoundrel and am going to read it soon. Is Vain in the first book in the series as a secondary character?
No, he appears in the latter books in the series. I wish I could remember which book he first appears in, but I think if you understand that he is the villain and isn’t meant to be your typical redeemed hero, you should be OK to read this one. I fear that if people jump into this without knowing he’s a bad guy, they may end up hating him because they don’t know enough of his backstory.
I’ve been looking forward to this book for a while now and can’t wait to get a chance to read it! Villainous heroes have always been a favorite, and I’m anxious to read Val’s story.
Yes! What’s so cool about this story is that Hoyt doesn’t even try to redeem him like all the other books I’ve read with villainous heroes. Val is so unapologetic about and I found that to be so interesting to read.
I’ve read all of Elizabeth’s other series, but I just recently got a chance to start this one. Need to catch up!
Wonderful! Let me know what you think of this one!
I do enjoy these Maiden Lane stories!
This is a series I’ve been wanting to read for awhile now! Sounds like this would be really good with the villian of the series as the hero!
I have throughly enjoyed this seies.
Weekend highlite-got to go for a motorcycle ride
I love the Maiden Lane series! Can’t wait to see how Ms Hoyt redeems Valentine!!
Hey Glenda, just as a heads up so you aren’t disappointed in the book but Hoyt doesn’t try to redeem Val. He’s very much the bad guy all throughout the book. So just keep that in mind while reading 😀
Can’t wait to read this! <3
Haven’t read yet,but I have on my TBR list,I love historical romance books and this series sounds fantastic! 🙂
Great review, Annie. Elizabeth Hoyt is an author I’ve never read, but she’s been on my to be read list forever. I do love a hero who isn’t changed for the purpose of the story.
And you know I have to say it – love the make up!
Aw, thanks babe!
That’s a good way to put it. I really loved how unapologetic Val is. He knows he’s hated but that doesn’t stop him from being who he is. Sometimes when authors try to redeem a villain, it doesn’t always work. This definitely stays true to character.
Thanks for the post, I haven’t read anything by Ms. Hoyt yet.
The covers are gorgeous & romantic, but this is the best one yet!
I agreee!!!!!
loved the review. I love the series, too.
This series is so good, good to die for. One of the best ever written. I can’t wait to read this book.
I agree!!!
The Maiden Lane series is one of my favorite historical romance series of all time. I am definitely looking forward to Duke of Sin.
thanks for the chance <3
