Fall is up on us, for those of us from the UK who are always a little fuzzy on what exactly Fall is…it’s Autumn, which means it’s time to say goodbye to the sunshine and to greet cold winds and rain. Again, if you’re from the UK, we’ve been doing that all summer… But, it is the perfect excuse to curl up with your favourite blanket on the darkening evenings and lose yourself in a book. So, we thought we would show you the books we are most excited about for the season and give you a peek into what we will be reading this Fall/Autumn.  So settle in with your apple cider or hot chocolate and enjoy some great fall reads.

[new-release title=”Kill the Queen” author=”Jennifer Estep”]

The first in a brand new Fantasy series by Jennifer Estep, this book really kicks things off with a bang. With a new kickass heroine and lots of twists and turns, this book is a really fast-paced read with wonderful imagery and world building. I would compare this to the likes of Game of Thrones, but with a Urban Fantasy twist. So for something a little more fast-paced and imaginative this fall, I would highly recommend this read.

[new-release title=”Glitter Bomb” author=”Laura Childs”]

Fall for me is the perfect time to read Cozy Mysteries and one of my favorite authors has a new release in my favorite series of hers. GLITTER BOMB is fun and light, with an interesting twist. Shamus, Carmela’s ex-husband plays a really big role in this book and I have to say that I really loved his presence. Doesn’t reading about your ex always make things more interesting?

[new-release title=”Consumed” author=”J.R. Ward”]

With this new series by J.R. Ward, I really had no idea what she was going to do with it. However, this book surprised me in the best way possible. It’s far more intense than I thought it would be, bordering on suspense at some points. Like always, Ward puts a lot of heart and emotion into this book, making it feel larger than life. So if you’re looking for a good book to cozy up to that has a bit more heat and suspense, then I would highly suggest checking this new series out.

[new-release title=”Archangel’s Prophecy” author=”Nalini Singh”]

Singh returns to the original couple of the series, Raphael and Elena, and although I must admit I was a little skeptical about this choice, I found that the conflict of this book was very interesting. Elena starts to lose her powers and as the first individual to be turned, this is quite concerning. It’s this conflict that I think really made the book interesting and made me want to read about Elena and Raphael despite the numerous times we have already gotten their book.

[new-release title=”Diamond Fire” author=”Ilona Andrews”]

I am hopelessly bias. I adore Ilona Andrews, so I when I picked Diamond Fire up I had no doubt that I would love it. And love it I did! It’s a novella in the Hidden Legacy series and it gives us a more in depth introduction to Catalina Baylor. Catalina has dangerous powers, she’s a powerful Siren, and can make people literally kill themselves to please her. Because of the strength of her powers she’s spent most of her time staying away from people, but in this novella she gets a chance to use her powers to help her sister’s wedding go off without a hitch…and catch a thief. It’s left me hungry for more and I can’t wait for the new books with Catalina as the heroine.

[new-release title=”Close to the Bone” author=”Kendra Elliot”]

There’s nothing I love more than a good murder mystery! Kendra Elliot beings the Widow’s Island novella series with Close to the Bone when the skeletal remains of a teenage girls are found on a small island community. There are two possibilities, it’s either a girl who went missing a few years ago, or for Deputy Tessa Black and Special Agent Cate Wilde something much closer to home; their best friend who went missing when they were teenagers. It’s a great read, and part of a series where each book is being alternately authored by Kendra Elliot and Melinda Leigh.

[new-release title=”Trailer Park Heart” author=”Rachel Higginson”]

There’s something about a small town love story that is perfect for any season.  Especially when it’s packed of emotion and heart.  And that’s exactly what I loved about this second chance love story.  It’s sweet and addictive and has one of my favorite heroes of the year.  Plus it’s a nice slow burn romance and has a cute kid AND Christmas in it.  Like a perfect Hallmark movie, right?

[new-release title=”Royally Yours” author=”Emma Chase”]

For something set in a different time period, why not go for a Royal romance?  Tough rules sometimes are made to be that way.  And that is something you’ll find with Queen Lenora in this book.  Starting off as Princess Lenora, she was groomed from childhood to one day become a Queen and she has to take on that role much earlier than she thought.  Her life was one of sacrifice but she loves fiercely and I admire her character.  It’s one of my faves in this series and definitely one not to miss.

[new-release title=”Shades of Wicked” author=”Jeaniene Frost”]

Cuddle up with a wicked vampire under the covers!  Ian is perfect, really.  There isn’t much else to say because you should know his character by now (please read Night Huntress World in order).  But this book goes deeper into Ian as well as Veritas and I loved both of them so much.  And together they are explosive and kick ass.

[new-release title=”The Other Miss Bridgerton” author=”Julia Quinn”]

When you want a well written, but light-hearted and heart-felt historical romance, packed with humour and a dash of quirkiness, there’s only one option: Julia Quinn. In her latest release we have another Rokesby-Bridgerton romance and I can’t wait to dive in. It’s guaranteed to lighten up the dark and gloomy nights and leave me with a smile on my face.

[new-release title=”Shadow of the Fox” author=”Julie Kagawa”]

This book was so unexpected! One because I don’t read much young adult and when I do, it isn’t often a hit and two because Julie Kagawa is a new author to me. So why did I pick it up you ask? It was the cover…For once, judging the book by its’ cover was successful. Set in feudal Japan and full of the mythos of the time and place it had a very interesting setting and one that was entirely new to me. It told the journey of a 17 year old half human and half kitsune girl who is on an important quest. This book incorporates action, romance alongside an array of interesting characters, I can’t wait to read the next book.

[new-release title=”Sacaren” author=”Sadie Carter”]

I could do a autumn reading guide full of sci-fi alone – and if you want any recommendations of books that have come out please let me know in the comments! But, for this I have picked the romance where I one, take a great amount of joy drooling over the cover and two, is a little more mainstream (I like my alien sci fi romance alien). Sacaren is the second in the Sky Warriors series. The first book was great, funny and sexy with a hero and heroine I adored, I am expecting the same thing for book two!
