THE DARKEST TOUCH by Gena Showalter (Paranormal Romance): Someone spank me for not reading this book sooner! I don’t know why I didn’t jump on this as as soon as it came out because Torin has been my favourite for the entire series! The humour in this book is spot on and I couldn’t think of another heroine (apart from me) who would be a better match for Torin. He’s simply the best.

MY ONE AND ONLY by Kristan Higgins (Contemporary Romance): If you haven’t read this book already, you really need to. I was expected some fun road trip moments and in the end, I got a beautifully deeply thought provoking story that hit me right in the chest. This is definitely one of the best books I’ve read this year.

MAGIC SHIFTS by Ilona Andrews (Urban Fantasy): This amazing author duo takes a different approach to this book but it’s still engaging, fun and action-packed. I just don’t think these guys can write a bad book!

BROWN-EYED GIRL by Lisa Kleypas (Contemporary Romance): Readers who have been waiting for this book will be happy to note that Kleypas still sticks to her signature style. There’s plenty to love with this book from its humorous moments to its more heartfelt ones. There’s certainly something for everyone with this series.

JULY MOST ANTICIPATED:

Summer is officially here and what better way to celebrate than to lay out in the sun while reading your favourite books. C.S. Pacat will continue her Captive Prince series with PRINCE’S GAMBIT, a fantasy-filled story of two men with huge obstacles. Jennifer Estep has the latest instalment of the Elemental Assassin series with SPIDER’S TRAP. For Erotic Romance authors, Roni Loren’s CALL ON ME and Lorelei James’ CAGED both offer some off the charts hotness for your summer reading. And we can’t forget the release of J.R. Ward’s THE BOURBON KINGS, can we?  Ward’s new series is rife with family secrets, scandal and sexiness. This is definitely not one you want to miss out on.

YOURS ALL ALONG by Roni Loren – this m/m novella in one of my favorite series was the perfect fast read for me.  It’s a second chance romance, which I love, and has two adorable guys that had the perfect friendship before they took it a step farther.  Now after years apart and much heart ache they are ready to be together.  The world be damned.  Not AS hot as I expect from Ms. Loren, but it still steamed up the pages.

OPENING UP by Lauren Dane – I don’t know what I was expecting with this book, but lately I haven’t been following Ms. Dane’s books as I religiously would in the past.  This is a new series and I can tell it’ll become one of those I need to read ASAP.  Loved every bit of it!

CALL ON ME by Roni Loren – Yes!  She’s on here twice! LOL  As you may already know, I’m a huge fan of this series and I’ve been dying to read Pike’s book since we first met him in NOT UNTIL YOU (which I happened to read back when it was a serial…. so it’s been a long time coming for me!)  This book was everything I wanted.  Even when I wasn’t sure what I wanted.  This book delivered!

Other July books I’m anticipating and didn’t get to read yet because I’m behind schedule… As usual.

THE BOURBON KINGS by J.R. Ward.  This one I read and I can tell you I LOVED IT!  It’s so very different than other contemporary romance, it definitely has the Ward stamp.  The best way I can think to describe it is like a day time soap opera.  There’s a lot going on, and I was so interested in learning more about everyone I just wish we had all the books now.  Really enjoyed this new world she’s created and can’t wait for more.  Hope you all love it as well.

MAYBE IN ANOTHER LIFE by Taylor Jenkins Reid.  I fell in love with this author’s emotional writing style when I read AFTER I DO and I’ve been dying to read this!  It’s actually my next read.

THE HOTTER YOU BURN by Gena Showalter – I’m currently reading this one and I just love the town of Strawberry Valley.  Perfect for this summer time reading!

CAGED by Lorelei James.  I do seem to be very behind these days and didn’t get a chance to dive into Deacon’s story yet.  But I’m dying to!

RACING THE SUN by Karina Halle.  I didn’t fall completely in love with the first book in this, let’s call it a standalone series?  This book is set in Italy after Ms. Halle took a research trip last summer and being my country I’m dying to see what all made it into this story!

TRUTH OR BEARD by Penny Reid – Well, I am so intrigued about this series!  I read a short story that was like a prequel to this in an anthology last year and I’ve been dying for more.  I can’t wait to get my greedy paws on this!

KING OF HEARTS by L.H. Cosway.  This baby is hitting my kindle this weekend so guess what I’ll be reading?  Oh yes!  One of my favorite authors so any book she releases is a highly anticipated read for me!

RIDE STEADY by Kristen Ashley. It’s no secret that I looooove any book written by the great KA. But I think Ride Steady is going to be one of those books that I reread a lot. It harks back to her older works, only now she has gained a little more polish making it a much smoother ride. With her trademark to good to be true alpha male hero and a cute heroine, it is pure brain candy, but I enjoyed every single bite and can’t wait to go back for more.

NEVER LOVED by Charlotte Stein. It’s a slight understatement to say that I don’t like New Adult, the whole genre just puts my teeth on edge and makes me want to slap a bitch. But, there a few exception to every rule and Never Loved definitely qualified as as exception. Funny and knicker meltingly sexy, I loved the heroines mixture of sexuality, innocence and good old fashioned clutsiness as for the hero, what a classic, bad boy for the soft marshmallow inner core.

But, my real love this month (and probably continuing now into July) is my reread of the Kate Daniels series by Ilona Andrews. Love. It. If you follow us on Facebook you may have seen a few of my posts. I can’t get enough of Andrews mixture of action packed story, interesting world, where literally anything can happen, fantastic characters and romance. If you haven’t started on it yet, you need to pick up the first book immediately!

Anticipated Read for July

I’m excited for July’s book releases.  There are a few books that I have been waiting for simply because these are my autoread authors and what they write are usually anticipated reads for me.  Here are my top four.

1.  The Bourbon Kings by JR Ward.   ~Simply because, well, it’s JR Ward.  =)
2.  The Hotter You Burn by Gena Showalter.  ~This is Showalter’s book one of her small town contemporary, The Original Heartbreakers series.  I enjoyed the prequel very much.
3.  Ricochet by Keri Lake.  ~I have been following Ms. Lake and her teasers for this book totally hooked me.  Plus, have you seen the cover?
4.  Montana Cherries by Kim Law ~ This author’s books are always a breath of fresh air.

There was a couple of good reads for June but “the most enjoyable” is Rebecca Zanetti’s Wicked Ride.  I been craving a good PNR and this book satisfied my need. This one is actually a spin-off of her older series which I have not read but like I said, I enjoyed this novel very much. I’m definitely following this series.

So what about you? Anything you read in June that blew you away? What about your most anticipated books of July?

Loved Opening Up and My One and Only. I can’t wait to get my hands on Caged, Ride Steady, Never Loved, King of Heart and Truth or Beard. I think I’d like to try Bourbon Kings as well.

The Bourbon Kings and The Hotter You Burn are near the top of my to read list right now! I just finished the Kate Daniels series. I’m kicking my ass for not being on Twitter more as I’ve missed any of your Tweets about it. I’m glad I’m not the only one who is just getting to this series! I’m still reviewing them, because I’m so behind. Loved them!
