Can you believe it? I can’t believe it, are we really in the second half of 2017? In my mind it still feels like Christmas 2016 was just a few short weeks ago. But that could just be because of the English weather. To gear us up for the second half of the year, we’ve had a look at our calendars and come up with our top ten releases for the next six months. It was a hard task, we all had at least 10 books that we couldn’t wait to get our hands on, but after much wrangling, bribery and a few threats, this is our Top 10 of what is still to come in 2017.
BEARD IN MIND by Penny Reid
Beards are a thing in modern culture at the moment. Beards attached to “hillbillies” not so much. Unless Penny Reid is writing it. In which case you may find yourself suddenly fighting the desire to grab the nearest banjo and travel to the deep south to find a man who can rock the beard and dungarees combo and start making lots of babies. This is what Reid does to me, sends me searching my local town for a banjo. My town is sadly lacking any hint of banjos so I’m stuck here for now. But, once I’ve read BEARD IN MIND I feel certain that the Great Banjo Search will recommence.

ILLEGAL CONTACT by Santino Hassell
I’ve recently discovered my love for Santino Hassell and his writing. I love how gritty and raw his books are, and quite frankly they are super hot! So when I saw that he had a new series coming out, and it was a sports romance series… I was fangirling all over the place. Add to that when the cover was revealed there was a lot of drooling going on and my excitement was at the bursting point. So to say I’m highly anticipating this one is an understatement. I want to devour it.

THE CHASE by Elle Kennedy
It is not secret that the Off Campus series by Elle Kennedy is one of my favorite new adult series. When it finished, there might’ve been a little tear in my eye. But YAASSSSSS there’s a spin off. I cannot wait for THE CHASE to come out so I can jump back into this world and continue my obsession with this author. It’s an addiction and I don’t want to stop!

BEAUTIFUL MISTAKE by Vi Keeland
Another one of those authors I’ve been seriously obsessing over in the past year or two. Vi Keeland has slowly crept up my list of auto-buy authors, whether she’s writing alone or as part of the Ward/Keeland team. I will read it all! And EGOMANIAC was my first book boyfriend of this year, so I have high expectations for this one and cannot wait to get my greedy paws all over it. Plus, have you seen that beautiful cover? *drools* I need to be reading that by the pool this summer.

Well, after the last book, I really fell in love with this series and I’m definitely looking forward to seeing what scandalous thing Ward comes up with next! If you like your books with a heady dose of Southern charm and scandal, then you definitely need to pick up this series!

THE DUCHESS DEAL by Tessa Dare
Tessa Dare has a new series coming! Yup, you read that right. Now you can jump for joy like I am! Basically any book by Tessa Dare is a guaranteed good read but I have a feeling that this book will embody everything I love about Tessa’s writing. She has great characters that are full of charisma and charm. It’s definitely one to look forward to.

THE TROUBLE WITH TWELFTH GRAVE by Darynda Jones
I get excited when Darynda has a book coming out. It’s so automatic as if it was a JR Ward, or Sherrilyn Kenyon book release. Charley Davidson series has a charm unlike any other books out there. Charley is super funny, kick ass and her darling husband Reyes is just to die for. If you haven’t pick up this series yet, you’re missing out.

WILDFIRE by Ilona Andrews
No matter how many times I threatened for some crazy reason they wouldn’t make WILDFIRE number one on the list. But it deserves it darn it! This is the conclusion in Ilona Andrews amazing Hidden Legacy trilogy. So, I’m here making my case to you in the number 3 spot. It deserves to be number 1, what other book has this amazing combination of humour, romance and adventure? All mixed in with some characters that somehow over the last two books, Andrews has made you fall in love with. We have the insightful and resourceful heroine, the smoulderingly hot and dangerous hero, the quirky family of the heroine, all of whom deserve a book of their own *hint hint Ilona Andrews*. All these elements combined make WILDFIRE the most anticipated book for the remainder of 2017.

NOW I RISE by Kiersten White
Oh man, I am really dying for this book. After falling in love with the characters and the world in the first book, I have been on the edge of my seat waiting for this book. This series is a Young Adult Fantasy set in the Ottoman Empire. It’s a very unique series that feels very larger than life. I think adult readers would really enjoy this series as well.

DRAGONSWORN by Sherrilyn Kenyon
Super excited for this book. It’s been so long since I last read a dragon book. This is the second book of the Dragons Rising Trilogy and from the blurb on GR, looks like there will be a good dose of Greek mythology. Of Course, also part of the Dark Hunter series and I’ll take any DH sightings any day. Love, love Kenyon books.

Melinda Leigh is a new discovery of mine! I read the first book in this series and now I am desperate to read the second, HER LAST GOODBYE. It’s a thriller/mystery with a hint of romance and for someone, like me, who has an obsession with both true crime and romance books, it’s perfect.

Ride the Storm by Karen Chance
Karen Chances’ Cassie Palmer series is an action packed urban fantasy, which sees our poor heroine crash from disaster to catastrophe, with barely a pause for breath. But, I love it, it’s a fast paced, exciting series which you can’t help but race through alongside Cassie. But it’s also why I need to limber up and properly prepare before opening up RIDE THE STORM, I might strain something if I don’t.

Some of those. I’ve got to catch up on the Charley Davidson series. I’m dying for DEVIL’s CUT and WILDFIRE. You guys got me hooked on Keeland and Ward. There’s some Jaci Burton, Kirsten Ashley, and Lani Lynn Vale still to come this year. (Off the top of my head without getting my list) In fact, August is has more releases I’m interested in than June, which is okay. Then I can catch up, since I’m behind on stuff from all the adulting they expect of me around here.
