I know what you’re thinking.  How can you narrow a list like this down to only ten books.  The truth is that these are just 10 that quickly came to mind.  In no way, shape or form is this a “true” top ten and by no means is this a comprehensive list of the books we can’t believe we haven’t read yet.  If we actually did that you’d be here reading for days.  The TBR is long, just how we like it.  However, lets just have some fun and see which books we haven’t read yet that we have been dying to for years.  How do we keep ignoring them?  Have you read them?  What’s on your TBR that you’re hanging your head in shame it’s been there for a really long time?  We decided to make little notes as to whose TBR these books are on because there may be someone else here at UTC that has already read them.  Also… we totally cheated and mentioned series instead of only single books.  It’s our list, so we make the rules!  And now lets just dive into our list.

Chronicles of Nick by Sherrilyn Kenyon

I am a big fan of Sherrilyn Kenyon’s Dark Hunter Series and Chronicles of Nick is closely tied to that series.  I’ve read the first book and enjoyed it, but when it first came out, my reading palate was not into young adults books.  So, as it were, I put the series on hold.  Now, that my choices of genre has changed, I still have not given the series a try.  I know at some point I’ll have to binge the series, because I’m sure the ending of both series will have plenty to do with Nick himself. ~ Angela

Baba Yaga by Deborah Blake

This series, starting with the book Wickedly Dangerous has intrigued me for ages – and not just because of how gorgeous the covers are. Baba Yaga is a legendary Russian witch who is supposed to eat children and lives in a house with the legs of a fowl. There are so many possibilities for a great magic fuelled urban fantasy/paranormal romance, which is why this immediately when on my TBR list.  Sadly, I haven’t yet had the chance to pick the book up, but I will…eventually. ~ Suzanne

The Royals by Erin Watt

I’m a huge Elle Kennedy fan and I didn’t jump on the Erin Watt bandwagon early on.  Mostly because when the first book came out I heard about the cliffhanger stuff and wanted the series to be out fully before I started it.  But then you know what happens… TIME.  Once I have a whole series to go back and catch up on it keeps getting pushed aside.  But I know this is on my list when I’m ready for some angst. ~ Francesca

I-Team by Pamela Clare

I moan all the time about never finding any romantic suspense books that appeal to me. Well, I may be lying a teensy bit. I have had Pamela Clare’s I-Team on my TBR shelf for an age and I still haven’t picked it up. Everyone I know likes it and recommends it, which has made me a little wary with such high expectations, it’s a lot easier to come down rather than go up. ~ Suzanne

Alex Craft by Kalayna Price

So a little backstory.  This series has been on my radar for many, many years.  But back in 2011 (I think?) I heard Kalayna Price speak at a Comic Con panel and I just wanted to dive into this world immediately.  We know that there are just too many books on the TBR at all times, right?  So it never actually happened.  Then the series went on somewhat of a hiatus and I got a little scared about starting it and then never knowing if it would get finished.  So I pushed it aside.  Last year there was a new release in this series and that put it back on my radar.  Now with book 6 releasing next year I’m determined to get caught up! ~ Francesca

Captive Prince by C.S. Pacat

Shockingly, I have not read this series yet.  I’ve wanted to!  Oh, how I wanted to. I’m always complaining that I can’t find an epic m/m couple to fall in love with and then I don’t read these books!  Why do I do that?  I know there’s a huge fanbase for these and our very own Annie loves them as well. I have no excuses! ~ Francesca

Eidolon by Grace Draven

Why haven’t I read this yet? I adored the first book in the Wraith King series, Radiance but I have yet to pick up the second book. A fantasy romance with a hero and heroine who are forced by obligation to enter an arranged marriage, they nevertheless become fast friends and then more. The twist? The heroine is human and the hero is Kai – a race that resembles a dark elf. I loved this slow burn romance of love across cultural barriers and I can’t wait to continue it. ~ Suzanne

Innkeeper Chronicles by Ilona Andrews

I know Suz will want to slap me for this, but I’ve actually read a little bit of this series when it was released through the author’s newsletter as a serial. However, I found myself slipping off that routine when things got too busy and I never actually returned to finish it even though I have the finished copies. I know it’s something I really just need to do because I was a fan of what I’ve read, but for some reason, years later and I’m still not returning to it. I hope that this will remind me to get to it sooner rather than later. ~ Annie

The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah

I know I’m late on the bandwagon on this one, but the story and cover caught my attention a long time ago. But I just haven’t found the time to really make it a priority in my reading schedule. Because of its popularity though, it’s just one of those books that I keep meaning to get to but for some reason, keeps getting pushed to the side. Hopefully, one day I will finally be able to mark it as “read.” ~ Annie

In Death by J.D. Robb

Could I just say Nora Roberts in general?  This is like the biggest classic romance author out there and I haven’t made a dent into reading any of her books.  How is this even possible?  I feel like I shouldn’t be able to call myself a romance fan until I’ve read some of her books!  And definitely this series is one I would love to read. ~ Francesca

I’ve only read #3 on the list. A series I want to read but have put off is The Bronze Horseman Trilogy and I need to finish the Outlander series (only to book 4).

Kathleen Bylsma

The Baba Yaga series is the only one of these I’ve read-LOVED them- and the Riders, too…but have read three of the other authors in different series…

Lover Of Romance

ooh what a great list you have here!! I LOVE Eidolon…you will love it if you enjoyed Radiance.

I’ve finally got the 3 books in the Discovery of Witches series, but haven’t started them yet.
It took me along time to start reading the In Death series (I have read most of the Nora Roberts books). Once I started I just kept going – and now I eagerly await each new story.
I read The Nightingale – excellent book, but a difficult time & story.

Elizabeth

I’ve read 7 from this list and like each. Every time the baba yaga series comes up I tell myself to get to it and then forget.

Timitra

Wildfire by Ilona Andrews, The Kiss Quotient by Helen Hoang, The Dirt On Ninth Grave, Stillhouse Lake by Rachel Caine…

You are so right about it being impossible to do a true top ten list. Ive read the Innkeeper Chronicles that are published, I only started JD Robb’s In Death series this year, and there are four others in that group alone that I have on the TBR. I have been doing well on this issue, though. My blogging partner started an annual series challenge, The Series That Never Ends, a few years back and I have faithfully taken advantage by tackling a different series each year with book a month from the series. This way, I’m slowly but surely… Read more »

Ope, I lied, I’ve also read the Baba Yaga and most of the spin-off Riders series. Good stuff.

Dawn Roberto

Grave witch series is awesome and Grave Destiny s the last book I believe of the series. Love the piks and agree on Chronicles of Nick series. Read book one and loved it but got sidetracked by other books the last several years. The same with Baba Yaga series. Got the books but haven’t read them yet. Can’t wait though. This world sounds amazing.

One not on your list that is on mine is the Black Wings series by Christina Henry. heard amazing things about the series but haven’t given it a go yet.
