Spring has sprung, and along with all the beautiful, blossoming flowers, there have been some fabulous new m/m romance book releases and others to look forward to in the very near future.

Looking Back

April had some amazing releases.  First was Carry the Ocean by Heidi Cullinan, released on April 7.  This is a book that I was very lucky to have been asked to beta read last summer, and I have been anxious for MONTHS for others to get the chance as well.  I absolutely loved this book!  Cullinan takes on what could be a very difficult topic to write, but she does it effortlessly and pens completely endearing characters who have challenges to overcome – one has autism and the other suffers from clinical depression and anxiety – and she reminds us that everyone is deserving of a happily ever after.  I cannot recommend this book enough.

Later in April saw the release of Jordan Hawk’s Hoarfrost.  This is the sixth book in the Whyborne and Griffin series.  I recently began reading this series and immediately fell in love.  It is a historical series, set in Victorian times, with a little paranormal added in, and the main characters are just delightful.  I look very forward to reading the remaining books in the series, including Hoarfrost, which has received rave reviews.

Just released at the end of the month was Tales of the Curious Cookbook.  This is an anthology of stories written by powerhouse authors Amy Lane, Mary Calmes, Marie Sexton, R.J. Scott, and Amber Kell.  Seriously, can it get better than that?!  I can’t wait to devour this book.  HA!  See what I did there?! 😉

Looking Forward

The beautiful month of May kicked off with a release in one of the most beloved series in the m/m romance world.  Tere Michaels released Truth & Tenderness, the sixth and final book in her “Faith, Love & Devotion” series.  I absolutely love this series, and while I am sad to see it come to its end, I look so forward to seeing what Michaels has in store for Matt and Evan as well as Jim and Griffin.  If you haven’t read this series yet, you absolutely should.  It’s often the gateway series into the genre and is loved by many.

The rest of the month has highly anticipated releases from some superb authors.  First, there is Immortal by Amy Lane.  Lane is known for her angst-filled writing, and apparently Immortal will be no exception to that.  But she writes angst so brilliantly that it is worth the pain through which she takes her characters and readers.  The HEA is definitely well earned!  Then we have to look forward to Sultry Sunset by Mary Calmes.  Another esteemed author in the genre…her writing is usually a balm to the reader’s soul.  This short story contemporary romance provides two of my favorite tropes – Out for You and Friends to Lovers.  Soooo looking forward to it!  Fast forward to the end of month, and we will receive two more GREATLY anticipated releases:  the latest from Josh Lanyon, Winter Kill, which is a contemporary mystery – what Lanyon definitely writes amazingly – and a book in the “Coda” series by Marie Sexton – OMG, YAY!!!!!  Shotgun will be book seven in this cherished series, and while it focuses on an entirely new couple, I am certain that we will likely get to see some of our favorite Coda boys as well.  One can only hope!!spacer
