Yay!!! August is finally here!!! I cannot tell you HOW VERY EXCITED I am. I have a vacation coming up, along with one of my most anticipated releases of the year! You will surely find me sitting on the beach, reading to my heart’s content. There are many other upcoming releases that I am greatly anticipating as well – it should be an excellent month of getting lost in a book!
So, one of my most anticipated books for this YEAR is releasing August 11, and it is none other than Lonely Hearts by Heidi Cullinan, from her Love Lessons series. OMG, I seriously cannot tell you how much I both WANT and NEED to read this book. This series is one of my all-time favorites. I devoured both of the first books in the series – Love Lessons and Fever Pitch – and the characters on which Lonely Hearts is centered are Baz and Elijah. For those of you who have read Fever Pitch, you know how exciting and explosive these two guys could be together. There is already a history here, which I can’t wait to read more about, and the complexity of each character is off-the-charts, so I am sure that when they come together, it will make for a most amazing read. I simply am dying from anticipation!!!

In early August, readers will also find the release of Against the Grain by Charlie Cochet, the fifth book in her THIRDS series. All of the books in the series get rave reviews, and preliminary reviews for Against the Grain are no exception. I haven’t had a chance to read this series yet myself, but it has been on my TBR for awhile now. I have read other books by Cochet, however, and I absolutely love her writing, her style, and her storytelling, so it doesn’t surprise me at all that this series is a favorite among many readers.
On August 10, readers will be able to get their hands on Groomzilla by Tere Michaels. This book sounds great, and knowing Michaels, it will have some excellent humor mixed along with its romance. With a gay wedding to be broadcast on reality television, drama-induced behavior to increase ratings, and the collision of the wedding planner and the TV producer, it sounds like it could be a very fun read!
A UTC favorite, Mary Calmes, is releasing Piece of Cake, book #8 in her Matter of Time series on August 12. Woo-hooo!!!! This is something fans of Sam and Jory have been waiting for, for a long time – their marriage!! They have been through it all, but now it is time for the extra step of commitment to happen, and nothing will stand in their way. I’m looking forward to seeing how everything all pans out. Knowing these two, it won’t be easy, but it will be worth it.
And finally, another VERY anticipated read for me comes out at the end of the month, August 25, and is Charmed and Dangerous:Ten Tales of Gay Paranormal Romance and Urban Fantasy. Some of the authors who will have stories featured in this book include some of my absolute favorites – Rhys Ford, Jordan Castillo Price, KJ Charles, Jordan Hawke, and as mentioned above, Charlie Cochet. It also includes tales by Ginn Hale, Nicole Kimberling, Lou Harper, Andrea Speed, and Astrid Amara. I haven’t read any of these authors yet, but plan to correct as soon as this is released. Here is the blurb about the book: “Magic takes many forms. From malignant hexes to love charms gone amok, you’ll find a vast array of spells and curses, creatures and conjurings in this massive collection—not to mention a steamy dose of man-on-man action.” Sounds amazing, right?! So can’t wait!!
