Today is #elephantappreciationday and in honor of my favorite animal, I figured I would share some fun facts with you all about 🐘⁠

🔸They use their trunks to drink water, but also as a snorkel when swimming⁠
🔹They eat so much they can spend 3/4 of the day eating⁠
🔸Elephants hug by putting their trunks in each other's mouths⁠
🔹They mourn their dead⁠
🔸They can recognize themselves in a mirror⁠
🔹They live in matriarchal societies⁠
🔸They can listen with their feet⁠
🔹Baby elephants suck on their trunk like baby humans suck on their thumb⁠

Remember to not buy ivory or other wildlife related products, support organizations that are working to protect their habitat and stop poaching, and support alternative, sustainable livelihoods for the people who have traditionally relied on elephants. ⁠

My project for this weekend is to work on a Fall R

My project for this weekend is to work on a Fall Reading Guide post coming to the blog next week and I'm so excited about it. It's my favorite season and I hope my schedule can finally start clearing up some this Fall and I get some more reading time.⁠

In other good news, a lot of progress is being made with the reno so any delays now on me moving in I blame solely on material backorders. If you're working on anything, buy everything with plenty of time. Nothing is available right now! But enough of my ranting.⁠
