With the recent cover reveal of Toni Blake’s first book in her new series called Summer Island, it has got me thinking of my favorite series by her. The Destiny series was one I discovered many years back and fell in love with because of its charming setting and sweet characters. But what set this series apart from the normal small-town Contemporary Romances that I enjoyed was the fact that this series had steamier sex scenes than what was normally done at the time.
In addition to that, the first book in the series, ONE RECKLESS SUMMER, contained one of the best conflicts I have ever read in fiction. Even years later, I still consider it to be one of the best conflicts I’ve read for a character and I would highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys Contemporary Romance.
Along with the bad boy heroes and delicious sex scenes, this series also contains a very strong friendship between all the heroines. So not only do you get the strong sense of community in this series, but I also love that Blake isn’t afraid to explore other relationships in addition to the main romantic one featured in each book.
So with the upcoming release of THE ONE WHO STAYS, the first book in the Summer Island series coming this summer, I hope you all take the time to read the Destiny series if you haven’t already.
I heard that the Summer Island series will have the same kind of tone, which excites me greatly and I will counting down the days when the new book hits the stores. In the meantime, join me as I reread one of my all-time favorite series from Toni Blake – the Destiny series! I guarantee that you won’t be disappointed!
