Q O T D: what are some of your favorite settings in books? I have a little bit of an obsession with Alaska. I’ll read books with that setting, watch movies and TV shows with it as well. .
This is also why I’m super excited about this book coming out in 2020. Look how cute it looks!! And as a sneak peak into #romanceopoly this may fit into one of the categories. 😉

There's nothing that makes me happier than seeing books brought to life, even if I haven't read them yet! That is the case with the Virgin River series by Robyn Carr. I'm a sucker for a good small town romance and I've wanted to start reading it for a while. I confess I haven't because I'm intimidated by the number of books. I have the opportunity of getting a peak into this world now that Netflix has turned it into a series and I couldn't be happier. The show premiered TODAY and I plan on binge watching it. ;) Plus the ebook of book 1 in this series is only $1.99 if you want to read along.⁠

Anyone else a fan of retellings? LITTLE WOMEN is one of my favorite stories (book and movie) and I'm so happy to see it come back to life this holiday season. The new movie with Emma Watson is releasing December 25 and the lovely Virginia Kantra has just released her women's fiction retelling! I was itching to crack this one open and it didn't disappoint. This book focuses on Meg and Jo and there will be a second book for Beth and Amy. I'm usually partial to Jo but Ms. Kantra managed to get me to fall in love with Meg. I really loved her story as she's struggling in her marriage and trying to find her footing in life with family and her career. This is the perfect book to read this holiday season!⁠

Happy release day to one of my favorite authors who has ventured into a new genre. I was so excited to read Nalini Singh's debut in the mystery genre and she didn't disappoint. There's something laid back about this story and setting that I really enjoyed. While I had the mystery part figured out early on enough, I still enjoyed the ride.⁠

Don't go into this expecting a romance because I wouldn't even call it a romantic thriller, but I was happy to see a tiny side of romance and it was enough to keep me satisfied. I cannot wait to see what she writes in this genre next and I'll be anxiously awaiting it.⁠
