mostanticipatedbooks

We are now in that second half of the year and we are starting to look forward to the books that seemed too far away in January!  Here’s a list of the ones we here at UTC are dying to get our hands on and we think you should too.  So let’s get started, shall we?

[new-release title=”Blood Vow” author=”J.R. Ward”]

Dying for it because…

This will come has no surprise to anyone here but of course the next Black Dagger Legacy book was going to be at the top of the list. Not only am I excited to get back to the training centre and learn more about Axe, but I think there’s also going to be a sidestory with Rhage, Mary and Bitty!!!! WHAT’S GOING TO HAPPEN? I’m already dying to know!

[new-release title=”Apprentice in Death” author=”J.D. Robb”]

Dying for it because…

Again, not a surprise since everyone knows that Eve Dallas is hands down my favorite heroine of all time. I’m curious to see what crazy situation Robb is going to put her characters in next! You know it will be intense every time with her.

[new-release title=”Dragonmark” author=”Sherrilyn Kenyon”]

Dying for it because…

Kenyon is going to write about dragons! How exciting! Now don’t get me started on where this book fits into the Dark Hunters universe. The reading series order utterly confuses me, but I have no doubt that I will be picking up this book once it releases. I always need my PNR fix.

[new-release title=”Heartless” author=”Marissa Meyer”]

Dying for it because…

Meyer was an author I fell in love with last year with the Lunar Chronicles so I am definitely looking forward to seeing what she’ll do with this standalone story inspired by the Queen of Hearts. She does fairy tale retellings very well!

spacer

[new-release title=”Loving You Easy” author=”Roni Loren”]

Dying for it because…

I’m always excited when a new book in the Loving on the Edge series comes out, so much that I don’t even read the blurbs anymore!  Whatever Roni Loren gives us, I’ll be excited to read.  So I’m going in blind to this one and I don’t even know who this book will be about.  I just know I can’t wait to dive in.

[new-release title=”Do You Want to Start a Scandal” author=”Tessa Dare”]

Dying for it because…

I’m so ready for a good historical romance and not many can do that better than Tessa Dare.  Her writing always transports me to another time and place and makes me part of the story.  I fall in love right along with the heroine and I’ve been missing that.

spacer

[new-release title=”The Sight” author=”Chloe Neill”]

Dying for it because…

The first book in this series was one of my favorite paranormal stories of last year and I can’t wait to go back in for more.  I think there’s a lack of good, original new urban fantasy stories and this one hit all my buttons.  I’m dying to know what happens next!

spacer

[new-release title=”The Operator” author=”Kim Harrison”]

Dying for it because…

I was so excited last year to read about this new world created by the talented Kim Harrison, and it did not disappoint.  I enjoyed THE DRAFTER sooooo much (highly recommend you start!) and I cannot wait to go back and see what happens.  I’m jumping up and down with excitement for this to get in my greedy paws.

[new-release title=”Thief of Hearts” author=”L.H. Cosway”]

Dying for it because…

Well, do you really need a reason why this book is on my list?  It’s L.H. Cosway.  Auto buy, auto read, auto everything.  AND it’s part of the Hearts series and in particular, it’s Stu’s story.  We know him as the not so bright (or so he seems) brother of our last hero in HEARTS OF BLUE.  I have been so curious about his story for the past few books, I just can’t contain myself.  I need this now!

[new-release title=”The Beauty of Darkness” author=”Mary E. Pearson”]

Dying for it because…

THE BEAUTY OF DARKNESS, the third and final installment of The Remnant Chronicles by Mary E. Pearson is an anticipated read for me.  After an exciting and dangerous adventure and Lia, Rafe and Kaden will decide where their paths will end.  This series has captured my heart since going on a binge read in the YA/fantasy genre.

spacer

[new-release title=”Shadow Falling” author=”Rebecca Zanetti”]

Dying for it because…

Zanetti brings an exciting story about the survivors of Scorpius Syndrome that nearly wiped out the population.  Just like the first book, I’m expecting this post apocalyptic romantic suspense will keep you at the edge of your seat.

[new-release title=”The Emperor’s Arrow” author=”Lauren D.M. Smith”]

Dying for it because…

This one actually comes out this month.  Saw this on NG and fell in love with its cover.  Thank God the author has a good story to back it up with.  Supposedly stand alone but I hope that changes soon.  It’s a and Emperor-warrior bride story but not a typical trope. Lots of imperial politics, unconventional pairing and good action to boot.  This author is one to watch for.

[new-release title=”A Scot in the Dark” author=”Sarah MacLean”]

Dying for it because…

It has a sexy scottish guy in it…need I say more? Fine fine, I will say more. Sarah Maclean is one of my favourite historical romance authors, and not just because of the sexy heroes she creates. It’s the heroines as well, I love them, they tend to unusual and interesting, so I can’t wait to see what she has in store for me next.

[new-release title=”Beard Science” author=”Penny Reid”]

Dying for it because…

I love Penny Reid, and one of the reasons I love her, is that she has to be the only author who has ever gotten me excited about a book where the hero’s name is Cletus. And he plays the banjo. Flash backs of Deliverance anyone? That takes some mad skillz. I can’t wait to get my hands on this and finally read about my crazy intelligent and just plain damn crazy Cletus.

[new-release title=”Never Better” author=”Charlotte Stein”]

Dying for it because…

The blurb for this one isn’t out yet (as far as I know) and I already know that I want it. This has to be the only New Adult series that I actually enjoy. The reason being Stein has such a fantastic way with words, I lap up everything she writes. So far the books in this series have been, funny, odd and erotic, it’s a strange combination but she makes it work wonderfully well.

[new-release title=”Magic Binds” author=”Ilona Andrews”]

Dying for it because…

And by obsession continues onto book 9 in this series. If I had to pick a series to take to a desert island with me, this would be in the short list (it would be a tie between this series and Black Dagger Brotherhood by J.R. Ward) I love it that much.

So how did we do?  Any on this list that you are dying to read?
