I travel onward on my Kindle Unlimited journey! It’s been a while since I have given any KU recommendations so…strap in I have a lot to share!

I have read some fantastic books on KU and I have put them all in the cover gallery below if you want to check them out. But I wanted to highlight a few of the ones I absolutely adored. I am also going to separate out all my sci fi reads (of which there are many!) so that my fellow alien enthusiasts (of which I also hope there are many) can see what I’ve been reading.

My reading has been a little hit and miss, books that I expected to like, and that I see that other people have loved, didn’t quite hit the spot for me. However, I have read some fantastic books and discovered some authors I hadn’t read before

Melt For You by J.T. Geissinger
new to me author

I picked up Melt For You because I needed a book with a bad boy hero for the Romanceopoly challenge. But wow. I didn’t realise it would turn into a read-in-one-sitting kind of book, but it captivated me. Especially as I don’t really like bad boy heroes. Luckily our sexy hero was a perfect gentleman through out the book, which I was tremendously pleased with, but he did have a bit of a bad boy reputation.  It ‘s mixture of sexy and funny was spot on and I fell in love with both the hilarious, quirky and plus sized heroine, as well as the outrageous and delicious Scottish hero.

Luna and the Lie by Mariana Zapata
autobuy author

Did I go into this book expecting to love it? Why yes, yes I did. I love Mariana Zapata’s books her slow burn, friends to lovers tales just hit me right in the sweet spot. This book was no different. I loved it. Was it my favourite of her books? Probably not, Rhythm, Chord and Malykhin (unfortunately one of the few books NOT on KU) holds that special place in my heart. But, I loved the bubbly and optimistic Luna especially in contrast to the grumpy and demanding Rip.

The Princess Bride by William Goldman
classic romance & adventure

This is another book I picked up for the Romanceopoly challenge, this time I needed a classic romance. And, what better than The Princess Bride?! It even says on the cover ‘A Classic Tale of True Love and High Adventure’.  It’s a book I have been meaning to read for years as I absolutely love the film, it’s one of my favourites. And, reading this book has made me appreciate how closely the film resembles the book not just in plot points and characters, but in feel and essence. If you liked the film, you’ll like the book. It’s a truly unique read and I am so glad I finally picked it up.

The 3 books above aren’t the only ones I have read, I have also read the ones in the below gallery. I’ve put them in order by how much I liked the book, the ones at the beginning I really loved and the ones at the end I didn’t – although I DNFed only The Fever King and Shrill Dusk. The rest got 3 stars and above.

Now, we move on to the sci fi romance portion of the post! When I look back, I am actually a little disappointed at myself, I haven’t tried very many new authors or series recently. I need to do some exploration on on KU so I have more to share with you next time.

Reaper (The Cyborg Chronicles #2) by Kelsey Nicole Price– I don’t know if I have spoken about this series before. If not, I should have done. They are such wonderful books! What draws me to it is the way Price’s cyborg heroes are both so innocent and yet jaded at the same time. It’s my kryptonite! There are only 2 books out in the series so far, but the third book is due to release soon(ish) I believe and I can’t wait to get my hands on it!

Khargals of Duras series – This is another series like the Valos of Sonhadra where the basic origin story is the same, but each book in the series is written by a different author. And, the main protagonists? Aliens that look like gargoyles, in fact in this series the Khargals are the ones who sparked up the existence of gargoyles. I have only read the first two books in the series, but I am loving it so far and hope to read the rest of them soon.

Ruby Dixon releases – Dixon is one of my favourite sci fi romance authors and she’s had a few books out recently, all of which I have loved! If you haven’t read her Ice Planet Barbarian series yet you need to give it a try. It’s fun, it’s sexy and it has gorgeous blue aliens with horns. What more could a gal ask for!? In case you missed them, these are the new releases from Dixon, but if you haven’t read her before, all her books are on KU:

  • Barbarian’s Seduction (Ice Planet Barbarians #17)
  • Barbarian’s Valentines (Ice Planet Barbarians #16.6)
  • Angie’s Gladiator (Icehome #5)

Tiffany Roberts releases – Roberts is also another favourite of mine. Their (it’s a husband/wife team) Kraken heroes were probably one of my first alien alien books. I’d read books where the alien is basically a humaniod with blue or bronze like skin, even read some cyborg romances, but nothing where the alien is truly different. In the hands of Roberts, they turn something that could just be weird erotica into a series of beautiful romances where the hero just happens to have tentacles. It’s a fantastic series and their have been two new releases in it since my last post:

  • Rising from the Deep (The Kraken #5)
  • Fallen from the Stars (The Kraken #6)

Those aren’t the only books I’ve read, the gallery below shows all the sci fi romances I have got my hands on (these are in no particular order – I love them all!)

I love seeing your recommendations for KU. I’m inactive on my subscription at the moment, but when I get more done off my review, library, and TBR piles, I’m going to activate it again so I’m keeping a list of possibilities. 🙂
