There’s nothing better around this time of year than to cuddle on your favorite reading nook with a steaming cup of tea or hot chocolate, grab your favorite blanket and read a comfort holiday story. Because it feels nice sometimes to put aside the angst and the fights, the blades and the shit-kickers. And just feel the warm and fuzzies. Here at UTC we are in the habit of giving you some recommendations every holiday season for some books that may make you smile. And here’s our latest list for 2014!

The Kent Brothers by Jaci Burton – Following three brothers in this novella series, Jaci Burton mixes real life issues with heartwarming moments in this holiday package.
Christmas At Twilight by Lori Wilde – What happens when an injured soldier is honourably discharged from service and comes home to find a woman in his home? CHRISTMAS AT TWILIGHT explores PTSD, mental illness and a slew of other dark themes but in a way that is both charming and uplifting for the characters. As more secrets are revealed, the question of whether Hutch or Jane can servive now threatens their relationship.
Holiday on ice by Jaci Burton – Trick and Stella had a torrid affair not too long ago before their careers broke them apart. Now that flame burns deeper and brighter in this holiday short that is as sexy as it is sweet.
Sleigh Ride by Heidi Cullinan – Second in the Minnesota Christmas series is this charming but touching story between two polar opposite. When Gabriel and Arthur are forced to work together to prepare for the annual Christmas fundraiser, they discover more about what it feels like to fall in love at Christmas.
Merry Christmas, Baby by Jill Shalvis – The very, VERY last of the Lucky Harbor series (unless she decides to return to this amazing world). Shalvis returns to Chloe and Sawyer, my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE couple of this series. So you know it’s going to be absolutely amazing.
The Way Home by Cindy Gerard – This book is by far the most intense, most emotional, and riveting book of the series, Gerard piles on the angst in this novel. But wow, it’s so stunningly beautiful that I’m sure tears will be shred. And not all of them will be bad, I promise you.
Merry Gentlemen by Josephine Myles – For something sweet and a little quirky, Myles gives readers a fun and cheery approach to the holidays with this M/M story. This one will definitely lift your spirits for the holidays.
Cowboy for Christmas by Liz Talley, Kim Law and Terri Osburn – Cowboys for Christmas was a sweet surprise. I thoroughly enjoyed Kim Law’s story but what I didn’t expect is to enjoy Liz Talley and Terri Osburn’s stories as well. They all delivered a very sweet and romantic read. Not too heavy on the holiday theme that can also be read any time of the year.
The Mistletoe Effect by Melissa Cutler – This is my first holiday themed book for the year. The Mistletoe Effect is a little naughty, a little nice and whole lot of Christmas love. Cutler will get you geared up for some holiday spirit.
