“Maniscalco made this book hotter than the last.”

~ Under the Covers

Recommended Read!

Emilia continues the search for her sister’s killer and hopes to avenge her death. So far, she has managed to bind herself to the demon prince and offered her hand in marriage to another. For her to seal the deal, she will have to go on a journey with Wrath to the Seven Circles of Hell. Oh boy, what a journey it was. Not only that she gets to know a bit of this world and its people, but she will also get to know more about Wrath.

Emilia’s character has grown quite a bit. She handled Hell pretty well and I was impressed. She’s braver, bolder, and a bit smarter but she has not outgrown certain things. She had her moments of naïveté. At times impulsive, and sometimes played too hard to get. Overall, I liked her. I just wished the author got out of her head every so often. It was hard hearing her young POV all the time.

Wrath on the other hand. Holy hotness! He is power, danger, sex, and everything in between. He alone knocked this book out of the YA section to the NA genre. No daughter of anyone should be allowed to read about him because you’d want him all to yourself. Kidding aside, Maniscalco made this book hotter than the last. It’s not quite adult but it’s not YA(The author notes this on GR but I don’t think Amazon got the memo).

As I mentioned earlier, there are plenty of twists and turns and major reveals that will leave you wanting more. There is also a mini cliffhanger though not as bad as the last installment. I think Maniscalco made up for it. Despite minor nuances, I enjoyed this book quite a bit. I love the world, the characters, the mystery, and the drama she has created and I’m excited for more.

About Kerri Maniscalco

Kerri Maniscalco grew up in a semi-haunted house outside NYC where her fascination with gothic settings began. In her spare time she reads everything she can get her hands on, cooks all kinds of food with her family and friends, and drinks entirely too much tea while discussing life’s finer points with her cats.

Her first novel in this series, Stalking Jack the Ripper, debuted at #1 on the New York Times bestseller list. It incorporates her love of forensic science and unsolved history.

Favorite non-writing things:

I believe curry, avocados, vinyl records, handwritten letters, and my 1950s Smith-Corona typewriter are the best things on the planet. EVER. (Aside from my food blog, www.sndwchsetc.com, that is.) ? My favorite quote of all time is: “You can’t wait for inspiration. You have to go after it with a club” by Jack London.
