Latest News

Welcome to 2021!  Last year was a hard one for all of us and here at UTC we’ve also gone through some changes. Some of those changes you’ve already noticed, like the Release Calendar which we had to stop maintaining due to time reasons. Some you’ll see in the future. This January we are also taking a break from our annual reading challenge.  The past two years we’ve run Romanceopoly (before that the Roundabout Challenge), and this will be a gap year.  We’re hoping to come back in 2022.

We are encouraging you to continue to join us this year in reading 1 book a month in the In Death series by J.D. Robb.  As you know this is a very casual readalong as everyone can join in wherever they are in the series. That means we don’t have assigned books for the month which makes it a bit harder to chat about what we are reading without spoiling. But hopefully it’s the push you need to read one of the series we consider the best out there.

Because we know you guys loved our release calendar, you’ll be able to see some monthly new releases on these recap pages!  Check out books coming out all-month long in January a little farther down this page.  Every month you’ll be able to refer to this monthly recap for the books we think should be on your radar.

Lastly, we’ve been working (and haven’t finished yet, so it’ll continue) on making the years worth of content on the blog easier to access and browse.  For that we are creating some Genre compilation pages including some of the posts that we’ve done over the years that relate, favorite authors, recommendations, and we started working on our recommendations pages which will be the perfect resource for mood readers. For now here are some that are finished.

Historical Romance

The Genre compilation page for HR is ready to make its debut!  Learn everything about historical and what we’ve discussed of this genre on the blog before.

2020 Favorite Books

Want to know what were our favorite books of the year?  We are working through our lists of favorites and you can access them on the 2020 recs recap page.

Curvy Heroines

We’ve been hard at work on character type recommendations and if you’re in the mood for a curvy heroine, we’ve got you covered.
