“SPUN OUT left me happy and entertained.”
~ Under the Covers
It’s been a while since I read a cowboy romance but I know I’m in for a good story when I pick one up by Lorelei James. SPUN OUT was surprisingly more emotional than I was expecting and I really liked that about it.
Our hero is a widower, raising his little girl on his own. He has no time for relationships. Only his daughter and his job. But that changes when our heroine moves in next door to him, temporarily, and takes a position running a bootcamp for kids that his daughter participates in. The chemistry was flying off the charts from the very beginning.
I should also say that this book deals with mental health and I think Ms. James tackled the subject well. I don’t want to put spoilers in this review but if you’d like to know more on that you may want to look for some trigger warnings in other reviews. That being said, it was heartbreaking and uplifting at the same time. It shows the struggle but also the strength and perseverance to do better.
While there are still things that sometimes would take me out of the story, sometimes too much detail, I didn’t think they were enough for me not to enjoy this story. Lorelei James has a way of making you care for her characters as if they are part of your family. You’re rooting for them to get an HEA because oftentimes they’ve been through a lot and they just deserve it. And that’s exactly what we got here. In the end, SPUN OUT left me happy and entertained.

Excellent review….Ms. James has yet to write a book I’ve read that disappoints…I’m pleased to see the trend of authors addressing delicate subjects in books…those I’ve read have been very well done
I enjoy every book I read by lorelei james. I’m glad she tackled the subject well.
I need to catch up on this series, thanks for the review.
