“This was a really lovely story, laced with fun and family, an absolutely perfect Christmas read.”
~ Under the Covers
A Mackenzie Clan Christmas is a duo of Christmas novellas from the Mackenzie series focusing on the original brothers from the beginning of the series. So, if like me you need an Ian Mackenzie fix – the hero of The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie the first book in the series – this is the perfect set of novellas for you. If you haven’t read the series yet, this is a really bad place to start and I recommend checking out the reading order and starting at the beginning and the aforementioned, and fabulous, Lord Ian Mackenzie.
If you’re a fan of the series already, you will recognise the title of one of the novellas – A Mackenzie Clan Gathering – and that’s because this was originally released in 2015. However, A Mackenzie Yuletide is a brand new novella in the series.
A Mackenzie Yuletide
The Mackenzie brothers and their large families have all gathered for Christmas at Kilmorgan. However, they may not be the only ones…a ghost also seems to have taken up residence in the ducal halls. I am already madly in love with all the characters in this series and having these slices of life/novellas just makes me fall in love with them more.
In A Mackenzie Yuletide we see the Mackenzies almost decades after we left checked in, the children are now teenagers and our heroes and heroines are happily into middle age and enjoying their families. This was a really lovely story, laced with fun and family, an absolutely perfect Christmas read. I also really hope it is a way to introduce a new generation of Mackenzie heroes and heroines.
A Mackenzie Clan Gathering
I actually reviewed this way back in 2015…my feelings about this novella haven’t changed! Check it out HERE.

Annnnnd I will stop myself there, before I start waxing lyrical about my love of historical romance and fantasy as well; no one needs to know about my elf fantasies. As you can tell, I adore and day dream about most romance genres, and my three big loves are 1) reading about romance 2) writing about romance and 3) talking about romance with my gals. Which, is why I love Under the Covers so much, I get all my bookish needs satisfied and don’t get judged when I talk about my favourite characters like they are real people. Which they are right?
