Hello ladies welcome back to Under the Covers. I am so excited to have you both here today and that we get to talk about another m/m romance you’ve written together.
How was the idea for TOP SECRET born?
Sarina: Elle and I were talking about how much pressure we felt to write more of certain themes and series. And Elle said, “Let’s just write something nobody is expecting us to do. Something that’s just fun.”
What’s your favorite thing about Luke and Keaton each?
Elle: I love Luke’s grumpiness—he’s just so cranky and sexy at the same time, and it’s hilarious. With Keaton, I love how easygoing he is.
Do you have any visual inspiration for Keaton and Luke?
Elle: I don’t really like comparing to, or modeling my characters after real life people. I feel like there’s always this underlying pressure to do them justice or have the character now act like that real person would. I like to build characters purely from imagination.
If you had to pick a theme song for them what would it be?
Sarina: Well, this book does that for you! The song Promises by Calvin Harris & Sam Smith is kind of important. But I can’t say why. Read it and see!
We are very greedy, I think you know this. Are there more m/m romances planned for you guys?
Sarina: This is our first book together in two years because we’re both so busy. Right now we have no plans for a follow up. Sorry!
What are your favorite types of scenes to write?
Sarina: In TOP SECRET, our boys are very competitive. So there’s a lot of one-upmanship that was fun to write!
Elle: And of course, banter and dialogue really bring characters together, so I love that aspect as well!
What’s the last book you read and loved?
Elle: I just finished Monica James’ Bad Saint. It’s a dark romance and probably not for everyone, but if you like darker themes, it’s a very compelling read.
Tell us three things you won’t leave home without.
Elle: My cellphone, breath mints, and a bottle of water.
What are you each working on next?
Sarina: I just finished writing SUPERFAN, in my Brooklyn Bruisers series!
Elle: I’m working on the next book in the Briar U series – The Play!
Thanks so much for sharing with us!
Elle & Sarina: Thanks for having us!

Finance major. Secretly a male dancer. Hot AF.SinnerThree: Well, I’m down if you are. My life is kind of a mess right now. School, work, family stress. Oh, and I live next door to the most annoying dude in the world. I need the distraction. Are you sure you want this?
LobsterShorts: I might want it a little more than I’m willing to admit.
SinnerThree: Hey, nothing wrong with pushing your boundaries...
LobsterShorts: Tell that to my control-freak father. Anyway. What if this threesome is awkward?
SinnerThree: Then it’s awkward. It’s not like we’ll ever have to see each other again. Right? Just promise you won’t fall in love with me.
LobsterShorts: Now wouldn’t that be life-changing...
