8th Blogiversary + Giveaway: How to Work with Publishers

Posted May 24, 2019 by Under the Covers Book Blog in Blog it Out, Front Page, Under the Covers / 26 Comments

Can you believe it’s been 8 years since Under the Covers started? It doesn’t seem like that long ago that I received a message in my Goodreads mailbox from Francesca and Annie asking if I wanted to start a blog. I even have that message saved! Saying hell yeah was one of my best decisions as although running a blog is a lot of hard work and long hours…it’s also a lot of fun.

So, we invite you to join in our blogiversary party this week to celebrate 8 years of Under the Covers. We have some fantastic videos lined up and some big giveaways as a thank you for supporting and following us. Here’s to many more fantastic years!

HOW TO WORK WITH PUBLISHERS

One of the things other bloggers always ask us is how they can start working with publishers, how to get advanced reader copies, etc.  So we thought this would be a great opportunity to give you some tips if you are either starting out a blog/booktube/bookstagram or even if you are a seasoned blogger but haven’t really worked with publishers more.  Hopefully this is helpful to you and if there are any questions you may have, leave them in the comments!

I love that y’all did this with a publisher. I’ve only reached out to 2 publishers in my 3 years of blogging. Sometimes it’s hard to figure out who you should be sending the emails to.

Nice post. Most of the publishers seem genuinely nice. Thanks for introducing me to a face attached to a publisher. Makes them seem more real!

That was fun seeing Estelle’s face. Now, I’ll have the face to the name when I get her emails and respond to them. πŸ™‚ Very helpful information, ladies! I learned from other bloggers and instinct with interactions, but I’m so glad you’re addressing how to interact with publishers. I need to utilize my Instagram better. πŸ™‚

First of, thank you to Forever Romance for being gracious to take time out of their busy schedule to bring at UTC. Second, I think that, much as it hurts, leaving a not-so-good raring/review is critical in the inclusion of a book’s overall appeal. Not everyone is the same nor have the same reading type/excitement. Therefore, one book may not work for that person but will in the other. As a person working on the publishing busienss, do you live every book that comes your way or do you delegate said book to another person who would appreciate it more?… Read more »

Thanks for all these videos! I think they help people who have more energy than I do and who take the time to blog understand more of what goes on behind the scenes for a successful blog.
