“While I enjoyed this story, it also lacked a little extra something to really keep me satisfied.”
~ Under the Covers
There’s a certain charm that comes with small town romances and the Angel Falls series is a sweet one for sure. I was looking forward to THE WAY YOU LOVE ME because it features a hero who is a writer, single father, raising his little girl back in his small town. He’s also teaching a writing class and he falls for one of his students. The great thing about that is that even though it has the student/teacher trope both characters are the same age. This is a creative writing class taken by adults and our heroine is a successful lawyer who is curious about what her life could be if she follows in her passion.
While I enjoyed this story, it also lacked a little extra something to really keep me satisfied. Yes, there’s some push and pull between the hero and the heroine. The tropes are used very well and they made this story endearing. But somehow it was missing something I can’t quite put my finger on. The romance between the main characters, while adorable, didn’t excite me as much as … say… the romance between two side characters. The heroines’ brother who is a firefighter and the heroine’s best friend who is a baker. I think for me those two brought more spark to this story than the main couple. That’s not to say I didn’t enjoy this story, because I did. But it wasn’t memorable.
Nevertheless, I do find Ms. Liasson’s writing perfect for the sweet small town trope and I’ll be checking out the next one as soon as it lands on my hands. I have a feeling that will be my favorite of the series.

I get easily distracted by pictures of sexy guys and have tons of book boyfriends.I keep all my alpha males chained to my basement and guard them fiercely.*Back off bitches*I like to see Jason Momoa as a lot of those boyfriends, because ….. mmmmmmm JASON.MOMOA!
I’m a part time graphic designer (yes, everything you see on UTC has been done by me), run my husband's business from home and on a good day I’m a self appointed superwoman (she who can do it all).I love blogging with my girls and I couldn’t do it any other way!My first love is everything paranormal, but in the past few years I’ve re-learned to love contemporary romance.Every once in a while I like to mix things up with a historical romance, a steampunk or an LGBT book.Because I need variety to avoid book slumps.I don’t always need an HEA although I prefer one, and I love authors that can rip my heart out and make me ugly cry.

Always count on her for a good read, even if a bit bland, now and again…
