Welcome to Under the Covers After Dark, this week we will be celebrating all thing paranormal! We love anything with a paranormal twist in it, but what we love the most is when our heroes are a little…extra. So, grab the popcorn, get a bucket of coke and settle in for a creature feature! Each day this week we are going to show your our favourite heroes, but we don’t mean ordinary men, nope we like our heroes to be a little wild and a lot paranormal. So be prepared from dragons, demons, angels, shifters and vampires to steal your heart away.

Today we are talking about our favourite demons…

Algaliarept “Al”
from The Hollows series by Kim Harrison

Ok so I’m starting this off with a “bad guy” demon.  No, really, he’s not to be trusted at the beginning of the series (or throughout?).  But there’s something completely charming about Al, this 5,000 year old demon who deals in the darkest parts of magic.  He’s resourceful and cunning but as you know more about him you see he also has a big softie heart for those he comes to care for.  That’s not to say he can’t do some harm because he has and he does.  He can take on many shapes but his favorite appearance is etched in my mind as his traditional 18th Century British man, with a green crushed velvet tailcoat, white gloves and his unmistakable goat-slitted red demon eyes.  I will always love Al!

Rydstrom
from Kiss of a Demon King by Kresley Cole
#7 Immortals After Dark series

Being a demon king isn’t easy but Rydstrom certainly makes it seem like it is. As far as demon kings go, he is one of my favorites because of his intense personality, but also his love for others is also very noticeable. He is loyal and is willing to sacrifice himself for others. I enjoyed his proud attitude because it was never over the top and well, his powers certainly speak for themselves, don’t they?

Lore
from Ecstasy Unveiled  by Larissa Ione
#4 Demonica series

When we had to count down demons, I knew I had to put one of the Demonica heroes on this list.  Narrowing that down to one though, was not easy.  I love them all!  However, I went with my gut feeling on this one and the hero that I think stands out as my fave from the 5 original Demonica books.  Plus if you like your demons tatted, pierced and a lot dangerous then he’s your guy.  Lore is a Seminus demon and he didn’t grow up with his family.  He’s lived a hard life and forced into becoming an assassin.  Talk about tortured hero perfection.  But then he also has this sweet and endearing side.  Who could resist this badass I just described calling his woman Cookie or Cake?

John Pritkin
from Cassie Palmer series by Karen Chance

So this might be a shade spoiler-like if you haven’t read this series. When you first meet Pritkin he is an overbearing and arrogant War Mage, you don’t expect to fall in love with him. And yet, you do. This half human, half incubus and completely insane War Mage wheedles his may into your affections and stubbornly stays there. He’s also part of the one and only love triangle that I enjoy, and as you can guess I am Team Pritkin all the way!

Torin
from The Darkest Touch by Gena Showalter
#11 Lords of the Underworld series

First of all, you knew this series would make an appearance on this countdown right?  However, the heroes themselves aren’t the demons.  They are each possessed by one.  As you read, you come to realize that the demons have been a part of them for so long they are now almost one.  And here’s probably our favorite.  Continuing the theme of tortured heroes, we have the most tortured of them all.  Torin is possessed by the demon of Disease.  If he touches anyone he can spread a plague.  So he’s lived for centuries deprived of any touch and that also means deprived of love, aside from his brothers and their mates.  What a sad and lonely existence!  But he’s so sensual and primal, possessive and rough around the edges.  By the time you get to read his book you’ll be more than ready for him to make you melt.  This also takes the top spot because the author did a great job at solving the no-touching problem in a clever way, better than we could’ve imagined.

I’ve only read a few books in the Demonica series. Suzanne Wright has the Dark in You series that featured demons that I want to read.

Timitra

I’m going with Reyes Farrow because of who his father is

Sophia Rose

Rydstrom, Pritkin, and Torn, woohoo! If I hadn’t seen your list, I’d have blanked on who my favorite demon is. Pretty much all the Lords of the Underworld and Kresley’s for sure. But, my favorite would be Kresley Cole’s Malcolm.

Elizabeth

Al definitely. I also like Pritknn. I would add Giguhl from the sabina kade series, Mzatal and a certain other demon from the kara gillian series.

Elizabeth

Oh and halcyon from the monere series by sunny

I haven’t really read many books with demons in them but I am excited to read the Lords of the Underworld series!

HEATHER SCULLY

Of this list? That’s hard. But yeah, I’d go with Torin. I love Gena’s series! The more writes, the more I want to devour. Lol ?❤?

Janie McGaugh

Torin, Lore, and Rydstrom are certainly some of my favorites. Another favorite is Zane Kyllwood from Marked (and earlier books) by Rebecca Zanetti.

Jolanda

Shade from Desire Unchained! <3

Laura Lovejoy Brunk

I adore each of the favorite demons mentioned! Each of the authors mentioned are my go-to authors. But lets not forget the nasty- fun female demons. Once again i mention the rarely talked about Fallen Angels series by JR Ward. The troubled nasty female demon Devina.

Trix

Tribal from Marie Dees’ ANGEL IN THE MIDDLE

E. R.

Hmmm, that’s tough. The “demons” mentioned on the list are all credible, but I really don’t have a demon hero that I favor…yet. 😉

Irma

Cadeon Woede from Dark Desires After Dusk by Kresley Cole.

zuray

Funny enough I havent read a lot of Demon books except the IAD books… so Rydstrom is one of my favs

Zsofia T

Rydstrom is my favorite from the IAD series, but I have a few from the LotU – Torin, Lucien, Strider, etc.
And I recently read Suzanne Wright’s Dark in You, so I have to add Knox.

Betul

All the demon heroes from Lords of the Underworld and Demonica series.

Cristina Sandoval T.

I love the LOTU series… it’s amazing…. Torin and Gideon are my favs 🙂
