“Adair never fails to write about strong female protagonists in her stories.”
~ Under the Covers
After his divorce, Hunter Kane’s music career is spiraling down and he’s trying to get his groove back. He realized what he really needs is his old friend and songwriter Mckenzie to write for him again. Seeing her again brought back feelings he never dared to explore and would like to do so now. The problem is that Mckenzie left for a reason and it has nothing to do with their working relationship.
I love this second-chance-at-love story. Hunter and Mckenzie’s story was sweet despite the hardships they went through to get their HEA. Hunter is not my favorite character, but I loved Mckenzie. Adair never fails to write about strong female protagonists in her stories. I love that Mckenzie walked away when she did, made a name for herself, and handled her disability like a champ. She took her problems to stride and did things in her own way, in her own time. I honestly think she was too good for Hunter, but in the end, he proved himself worthy.
Overall, a quick and enjoyable weekend read.

I coblog and review here at Under the Covers and occasionally review for Hot Listens.I love to read PNR, UF, Contemporary, New Adult, and Romantic Suspense. Occasionally, I will venture to Erotica, BDSM reads and rarely Historical Romance. There are some sub-genres that I don’t always enjoy, but I’m open to stepping out of my comfort zone. For the most part, as long as there’s a hint of romance, I’m pretty much in.
