A heartbreaking start when our hero’s marriage proposal was turned down and his bitterness consumes him. After an almost one night stand as an act of revenge, Jaden finds himself in an awkward situation. Nursing a broken heart and broken bones, Jaden has to stay with Arsula who annoys him to no end. Yet, he is intrigued and deny it he might, he is attracted to her.
Arsula, on the other hand, is in town for a specific reason. Her intuition says, there is someone in Birch Bay that needs her help and Jaden might be that very soul. Little does she know that her intuition has other plans for her.
I’ll be honest, I didn’t like Jaden at first. His resistance to a new romance annoyed me a little. I understood it, but I was waiting for that moment that he falls on his face stupidly in love with Arsula. Of course, Kim Law made it so that his acceptance of his situation was gradual, and his undoing was a sweet outcome. I couldn’t hate him. He was actually not the idiot he started out to be, but this sweet guy who gives it his all in everything that he does. Yeah, he won my heart.
Along with loss, heartaches and second chances, Kim Law added something more. Call it intuition or fate, but Jaden and Arsula’s HEA had a little help other than just love. Law added a little magic to their story. After all, love is just that sometimes.

I coblog and review here at Under the Covers and occasionally review for Hot Listens.I love to read PNR, UF, Contemporary, New Adult, and Romantic Suspense. Occasionally, I will venture to Erotica, BDSM reads and rarely Historical Romance. There are some sub-genres that I don’t always enjoy, but I’m open to stepping out of my comfort zone. For the most part, as long as there’s a hint of romance, I’m pretty much in.
