“I had a smile on my face the whole time.”
~ Under the Covers
You know what’s amazing? When an author creates a story and characters that you enjoy so much that you can enjoy a trope you normally wouldn’t. No, no, no… I’m not talking about enemies to lovers because I gobble that stuff up. I’m talking about slow burn romance. It’s not a trope I seek out and it’s definitely one that can get on my nerves. But this whole series does it so well I don’t even notice until the end that it was.
In THE PROBLEM WITH HIM we finally get the story of newly executive chef Wyatt and his sous chef Kaya. I was dying to read this and I’m so happy it delivered what I wanted. Wyatt was sweet and sexy. He managed to soften those sharp edges around Kaya so well. I couldn’t get enough of them. Whether they were bickering in the kitchen or Wyatt was finally pushing his way into Kaya’s life. I had a smile on my face the whole time.
We get plenty of Kaya’s backstory in this book and I liked getting to know her better. But at the same time I wanted to see more of Wyatt’s backstory. We get some but I was greedy for more. I think the only thing that’s missing for me in this was getting some of Wyatt’s POV to satisfy me.
I am anxiously awaiting whatever Rachel Higginson’s puts out next. I always enjoy my time spent reading her stories.

Sounds good. I enjoy when a slow burn romance is done well.
