So I like to think that summer’s a time for hanging out at the beach, warm sand between your toes, salty air brushing your face, and the warm sun hitting your perfectly bronzed skin… But reality is more like it’s the sand in various crevices, squirrel tail hair, and pale skin frying under layers of spf 70. But hey, the one thing that remains the same is the feel of a book (or e-reader) between your fingers. That will never change no matter how old you get!
To celebrate the fourth of July, how about a list of my TOP FOUR Summer reads for 2018!
HOW TO KEEP A SECRET by Sarah Morgan (rel July 10)
If you have enjoyed any of my Wildstone titles, you will absolutely love How To Keep A Secret and head to the pretty island of Martha’s Vineyard for sand, sunshine and family drama. Everyone knows families are complicated, and the Stewart family is no exception – they’re all keeping secrets, but during a summer together on the island everything unravels. Heartwarming, emotional, funny and real (and with a hefty dose of romance!) this is definitely one for your summer reading list. Put this one on your TBR for later this month!
Looking for a sweet, romantic, comfort read with a little mystery element? RaeAnne Thayne has you covered in the newest book in her heartwarming and emotional Haven Point series, The Cottages on Silver Beach, available now. Photographer and innkeeper Megan Hamilton doesn’t want to be attracted to FBI agent and true crime writer Elliot Bailey. How can she be, when he is so sure her brother is capable of something terrible? It’s up to the two of them to prove otherwise.
If you are looking for a feel-good, fairy tale of a romance, the pick up the newest release from Melissa Foster. Melissa is known for her big family, deeply emotional and heartwarming romances, and Anything for Love is no different. You will laugh at the antics of heroine Charlotte Sterling, an erotic romance writer, whom is using her guest, renovations expert Beau, as her newest inspiration. You will also get a sneak peek into the fictional world of the Ladies Who Write, which is a fabulous group of steamy romance writers that I am a part of. If you are looking for a feel good, sigh-worthy romance that will steam up your kindle, look no further!
You know I love to write tortured heroes, or at least ones that are grumpy and quite hard for me to wrangle into submission. The hero, Ethan, from The Start of Something Good by Jennifer Probst, comes home with wounds that you can see and some that you can’t. We can’t have that, right? No, we need a fiery heroine to knock him off his socks, and out of them. Both are fun to watch! LOL. Jennifer writes a story of deep emotion yet keeps the humor, and the small town setting itself is exactly what will keep you turning the pages. Mark this one down for a win!
Yes, I said top four but I’m adding a bonus book, MY book. 🙂 Rainy Day Friends is a deeply heartwarming and humorous story about starting over and forgiveness. This story absolutely claimed my heart. I’ve had Lanie in my head for a long time, a woman who’s been deeply and devastatingly betrayed by love on many levels. River, however, didn’t come to me until she showed up on the page, chin up, heart broken, still a fighter and willing to take on the world for her unborn child. Oh the fun I had with this sisters of the heart story between Lanie and River. But no Jill Shalvis novel is complete without a love story, and oh how Mark Capriotti fulfilled both my heart and, eventually Lanie’s. I hope you will make Rainy Day Friends your next summer read!
Now go off and have a wonderful, safe July 4th … and don’t forget something to read!

Series: Wildstone #2

Following the USA Today bestselling author of Lost and Found Sisters comes Jill Shalvis' moving story of heart, loss, betrayal, and friendship
Six months after Lanie Jacobs’ husband’s death, it’s hard to imagine anything could deepen her sense of pain and loss. But then Lanie discovers she isn’t the only one grieving his sudden passing. A serial adulterer, he left behind several other women who, like Lanie, each believe she was his legally wedded wife.
Rocked by the infidelity, Lanie is left to grapple with searing questions. How could she be so wrong about a man she thought she knew better than anyone? Will she ever be able to trust another person? Can she even trust herself?
Desperate to make a fresh start, Lanie impulsively takes a job at the family-run Capriotti Winery. At first, she feels like an outsider among the boisterous Capriottis. With no real family of her own, she’s bewildered by how quickly they all take her under their wing and make her feel like she belongs. Especially Mark Capriotti, a gruffly handsome Air Force veteran turned deputy sheriff who manages to wind his way into Lanie’s cold, broken heart—along with the rest of the clan.
Everything is finally going well for her, but the arrival of River Brown changes all that. The fresh-faced twenty-one-year old seems as sweet as they come…until her dark secrets come to light—secrets that could destroy the new life Lanie’s only just begun to build.
