Romance Rewind: Kingmaker Chronicles by Amanda Bouchet

THE KINGMAKER CHRONICLES
This series only finished recently, however, I’ve been thinking about fantasy romance recently. My main thoughts are…there isn’t enough of it! Especially once you move out of the realm of YA. This is why Amanda Bouchet was so fantastic, she managed to hook a large audience with the Kingmaker Chronicles. By adding things we most of us are familiar with, like Poseidon, Zeus and Hades and then throwing them in to a brand new fantasy world it pulled us all in.
Then there was the romance. In this trilogy we watch Griffin a fierce warlord and Kat a displaced princess with massive untapped power and a sarky attitude fall in love. Then conquer the heck out of the rest of the continent…but in a nice way of course! The combination of magic fueled action and sensual romance married together created a series, that although not perfect, was definitely a great read.
So, if you’ve heard of this series but not tried it yet, or this is the first time it has popped on your radar check it out! It is an exciting trilogy that leaves you wanting more.
**P.S. If you are reading this Amanda Bouchet, please can we have a spin off series with some of the other characters from the Kingmaker Chronicles? Pretty please. **
Amanda Bouchet grew up in New England where she spent much of her time tromping around in the woods and making up grand adventures in her head. It was inevitable that one day she would start writing them down. Drawing on her Greek heritage for the setting and on her love of all things daring and romantic for the rest, her debut trilogy, The Kingmaker Chronicles, took form. She writes what she loves to read: epic exploits, steamy romance, and characters that make you laugh and cry.
A French master’s graduate and former English teacher, Amanda lives in Paris, France. She met her husband while studying abroad, and the family now includes two bilingual children who will soon be correcting her French.
Gosh, we all seem to be admitting our ages…and I hate that I am at the point in life when admitting my age is a “thing”…whodda thunk it? I was kind of hoping I would remain 21 forever. However, I have moved out of that New Adult stage of my life and am now strictly in the Contemporary Romance age zone of 28. I would prefer to be in an Urban Fantasy arena, but I don’t think I own enough black leather. However, I could probably squeeze into some PNR, I am fully prepared to give a horn job to my favourite demon, or suck on my sexy vamps…fangs and I am definitely up for some heavy petting with some fine looking shifters. Than again their’s always Sci Fi…I am fully prepared to do the right thing and help some poor alien race with more 6 packs than a supermarket repopulate their planet. Not that I am loose woman or anything.
Annnnnd I will stop myself there, before I start waxing lyrical about my love of historical romance and fantasy as well; no one needs to know about my elf fantasies. As you can tell, I adore and day dream about most romance genres, and my three big loves are 1) reading about romance 2) writing about romance and 3) talking about romance with my gals. Which, is why I love Under the Covers so much, I get all my bookish needs satisfied and don’t get judged when I talk about my favourite characters like they are real people. Which they are right?
I’m all in on wanting a spin-off series for all those side-characters we meet in the series. It was a fun series and yes, it wasn’t perfect but still very good!

I ADORE AMANDA!!! I fell in love with her books (I originally typed boobs, which hers are rather fantastic) when she asked me for a blurb. I knew I had a winner in the first line. What an incredible writer and for those of you wondering, she is an amazing person IRL.
