Interview and Giveaway with Stina Lindenblatt

Welcome to Under the Covers! We are so excited to talk to you about the first book in your new Copper Creek series.  But first off, since this is your first time chatting with us here let’s get to know you a little bit better. Tell us five things about yourself that readers wouldn’t know!

  1. I have a tattoo of Thumper on my butt.
  2. I was born in England, but because I’ve also lived in the US, Finland, and now I live in Canada, I have the most mixed-up accent around. People love trying to place it.
  3. I have a MSc in exercise physiology. Which is ironic given I almost failed PE in high school. I’m not athletically inclined.
  4. I would love to have a dog. But because my husband doesn’t want one, I seem to end up writing them into my books.
  5. I love the TV show Criminal Minds. I would love to write psychological suspense, but my mind isn’t twisted enough for that. lol

COWBOY MOST WANTED features a geeky cowboy in a dating reality TV show.  What’s your favorite thing about TJ?

I think one of my favorite things about TJ is how much he loves his friends and family. And his animals.

If you had to describe Violet in just three words, what would they be?

Smart, creative, compassionate

Was writing a cowboy hero something you’ve wanted to do for a while and where did the inspiration for this story/series come from?

I live in cowboy country, but I hadn’t even thought of writing a cowboy rom com until one day when I was running. I needed an idea for a new series, and for some reason (maybe due to the lack of oxygen going to my head at that point lol) the idea of doing a Bachelorette-style story popped into my mind. But I didn’t want it to be about the contestants and the bachelorette (or vice versa). That’s already been done several times. Plus I love best friend’s sister stories. I had already written one and wanted to write another one.

What’s your favorite thing about writing romantic comedies?

The humor. The world is a crazy place right now. It’s nice to slip into my own worlds and come up with things that will make readers smile and hopefully laugh.

Do you have an all-time favorite rom-com movie?

One? That’s a toughie. There are several I love. I would have to say Bridget Jones’s Diary (and the sequels). I actually make reference to the second movie in my next cowboy rom com (Once Upon a Cowboy).

Who are some of your auto-buy authors?

I’m a slow reader, so the list isn’t very long. I love Lauren Blakely’s books, but she comes out with them too fast for me to keep up with. So they aren’t auto-buys, but I do buy them as much as I can. Lauren Layne (when her books are available on Kobo). Jill Shalvis’s romances (she also writes women’s fiction). Also Lisa Gardner—but her books are psychological suspense.

What’s the last book you read that kept you up all night reading?

Lauren Layne’s I knew You Where Trouble. I loved that book. Can’t wait for the next one in the series.

What are three things you can’t leave home without?

My iPhone (then I can read whenever I’m stuck waiting somewhere!). My sanity. I’d say my car keys, but I can’t figure out where I recently put them. So let’s go with my wallet. I haven’t lost that yet.

What can we expect from you next?

I have two romantic comedy series that I’m currently working on. The fourth book in the By the Bay series is Decidedly With Mistletoe. The novella releases in September. The next book in the Copper Creek series is Once Upon a Cowboy (November). It’s a twisted Cinderella trope that I’m very excited about. The hero takes on the role of the heroine’s fairy godfather.

Thank you for having me on your blog!

Released: June 12, 2018
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Series: Copper Creek #1

A sexy romantic comedy about a hot cowboy, some racy photos, and an accidental hook up—or three—with his best friend’s sister…

Sexy cowboy TJ Daniels loves Norse mythology, Marvel comics, horses, and dirty talk. Not necessarily in that order. When his brother signs him up for a new Bachelorette-style reality show centered around a female star looking for love with a cowboy, TJ reluctantly agrees to do it, knowing that it will be great publicity for the ranch.

What he didn’t figure on is the show's photographer being Violet Brooks. Violet is TJ’s gun-toting best friend's little sister. She’s the same woman who left the small Montana town ten years ago and never looked back. And yep, she’s the same woman he lusted after when he shouldn’t have. And still does.

So when the pre-show marketing photo shoot involves channeling his inner underwear model — with Violet as the photographer — TJ ends up losing his shirt. His pants. And, if he’s willing to risk everything — including his place on the show that could save his struggling ranch — his heart could be on the line as well.

About Stina Lindenblatt

Born in Brighton England, I have lived in a number of countries, including England, the U.S, Finland, and Canada.

I have a Physical Education degree from the University of Calgary and a Masters of Science in Exercise Physiology from the University of Alberta, where I specialized in energy metabolism. Definitely cool stuff (seriously, it is!). I also had the opportunity to work with elite athletes through the universities and at several sport-training facilities (you know, in case you’re wondering why I always have athletes in my stories). During my undergrad, I worked in Helsinki (Finland) for one summer, cleaning bathrooms and saunas in a recreation center for the elderly. The seniors were great. The bathrooms, not so much. I eventually became a pharmaceutical sales representative (not a great one may I add) and now I write full time.

In addition to writing fiction, I love photography, especially the close-up variety, and currently live in Calgary, Canada, with my husband and three kids.
