Take a seat, grab some popcorn and an ice refreshing beverage and lets Netflix and chill. No you dirty minded individuals not like that, we want to share with you some recommendations about what we are watching and listening to. For those times when you just need to put your book down and plonk in front of the TV and relax. Whether it’s on Netflix, Amazon Prime, regular TV channels or a podcast, we are going to let you know what shows, films and podcasts we’ve been enjoying and share the love.
I seem to have less and less time for watching TV lately! I don’t know what’s been going on in my life. However, I did catch up with watching some movies I’ve been meaning to for a while. The first was ATOMIC BLONDE and I actually really enjoyed it. I mean, the fighting scenes were pretty terrible but all in all I found this movie very entertaining. James McAvoy was stellar in his role!
Other than that I also watched (finally!!!) THE GREATEST SHOWMAN and it wasn’t a bad musical. In fact, one of the best musicals I’ve seen in a while. But it wasn’t a superb movie. I guess I had high expectations and it fell a bit short of them. But it was still a fun movie to watch and very entertaining.
From the TV side of things, I’ve only been keeping up with my regular stuff. I’m watching The Voice, finished off watching Gold Rush and started watching Parker’s Trail and I’m all caught up with Blindspot!
I do on occasion listen to podcasts randomly and this month I listened to the When to Jump episode featuring Christina Lauren. I had just finished reading LOVE AND OTHER WORDS and it was a fun read to hear their journey from fan fiction writers to successful authors. You can check out the podcast here.
It’s been a cinema kind of month for me! I’ve seen some really good things…and some really bad things. Lets get the bad out of the way! I saw the new Tomb Raider with Alicia Vikander playing Lara Croft, normally I love Vikander, if you haven’t seen The Danish Girl than you need to check it out. But Tomb Raider…it’s a few hours of my life I won’t get back, it was so damn boring.
On to the good stuff, I saw a few films I loved. The first one was Unsane, it was amazing! It started off a bit slowly but, I was soon pulled in. Claire Foy does was fantastic in this film as the main character, she plays woman who has previously been stalked and so has moved. Only, he has followed her, or has he? Is it all in her head? It had me gripped. The other film I saw and loved was Ready Player One, I was excited to see this, but honestly not expecting that much. I’ve found that films that are stacked with lots of beautiful CGI tend to be lacking in other areas…like a story line. However, Ready Player One delivered in terms of looking fantastic and having a good story line. I think this is because it’s based on a book by the same name by Ernest Cline, a book I now fully intend on reading!
Wow, where did the month go? I felt like I didn’t have any time to watch anything this past month. Mostly I caught up with some live shows that I’ve been really into. I guess I kind of have fallen off watching TV dramas and movies for the time being and just going for more of the reality-type shows. MADE IN EXID has been the only one that I’ve been keeping up with and I did watch a bit of NOBLE, MY LOVE as well on Netflix. However, I’m finding a lot of continuity errors in it, which is totally wrecking my mood while watching it. Hopefully next month, I can find a new show that I can actually stick to.
I’m glad Fran watched The Greatest Showman and enjoyed it. My family and I love that movie. We actually just bought the movie via iTunes last weekend as we all wanted to watch it again. Haven’t watched anything new, but our next goal over the next week is to watch A Wrinkle in Time and Black Panther. I’ve heard only good things.
As far as watching movies and TV shows go, it’s been pretty slow. Since DH and I are caught up with The Walking Dead, we have been in search for a new show to binge on. And come up with nothing that sparks our interest. We have been recommended a few shows that we have yet to check them out. Got any suggestions? I’m looking for a fantasy-is show. I prefer to avoid realistic fiction. Let me know.
What are you all watching/listening to?
