Need a pick me up? Well, I have the perfect series for you. Shelley Laurenston has a brand new Paranormal Romance series that features honey badgers and let me tell you, it’s hilarious. I find that funny books are the best books to help you clean your slate and start new. The first book is called HOT AND BADGERED and it’s easily one of my favorite books this year. If that doesn’t convince you then here the top five reasons why you need to be reading this series.
Her characters are ruthless
If you’ve never read a Shelley Laurenston book then you probably have no idea what “brutal” or “vicious” means. But once you read this book, you will see just how crazy her characters can be. I mean, they’re practically psychopaths!
The women run shit here
Charlie is just one of Laurenston’s heroines who doesn’t allow anything to bring her down. When her father tries to get her killed, she’s the only one that her little sisters can rely on. It’s this independence and tenacity from her heroines that make me adore them. Plus, she’s lethal when she’s mad so don’t ever mess with her.
The heroes are so lovable!
I know this kind of contradicts number five but that’s the thing about Laurenston’s characters – they’re multidimensional and when you read this book you’ll totally understand what I mean. Berg is a giant grizzly protection specialist but he also has this side that only comes out when Charlie is around. It makes for a really fun time!
A genre-bender anyone?
This series is technically a Paranormal Romance series however you’ll see what I mean when I say that it also works as a cute and funny Romantic Comedy as well. If this book was made into a movie or TV series, you can bet that I would see it!
Laugh Laugh Laugh
Obviously the main reason many readers read Shelly Laurenston’s books is because they get so much joy from them. Just from the first chapter, I was already laughing out loud at some of the lines. The stories and characters are often absurd, but that’s actually what I enjoy about them the most. No other author is willing to go to the limits to see where their characters end up and that’s why I keep coming back for more.
So I hope those were enough to convince you to try out this new series. If you do read it, don’t forget to tell me what you think! Happy reading!

It’s not every day that a beautiful naked woman falls out of the sky and lands face-first on grizzly shifter Berg Dunn’s hotel balcony. Definitely they don’t usually hop up and demand his best gun. Berg gives the lady a grizzly-sized t-shirt and his cell phone, too, just on style points. And then she’s gone, taking his XXXL heart with her. By the time he figures out she’s a honey badger shifter, it’s too late.
Honey badgers are survivors. Brutal, vicious, ill-tempered survivors. Or maybe Charlie Taylor-MacKilligan is just pissed that her useless father is trying to get them all killed again, and won’t even tell her how. Protecting her little sisters has always been her job, and she’s not about to let some pesky giant grizzly protection specialist with a network of every shifter in Manhattan get in her way. Wait. He’s trying to help? Why would he want to do that? He’s cute enough that she just might let him tag along—that is, if he can keep up . . .

When it comes to books I’m pretty adventurous. I read everything from Paranormal Romance to Urban Fantasy, New Adult, BDSM, LGBT fiction, Cozy Mysteries and even YA. If it’s got the littlest trace of romance in it, then I’ll probably read it. That being said, my all-time favorite authors are J.R. Ward and Karen Marie Moning.
When I’m not submerged in a good book, you can find me musing about makeup and planners or dreaming about Kpop boys and beaches. Until then, check out my reviews and let’s talk books!
