“[it will] bring a smile to your face, and wrap you in a romantic haze.”
~ Under the Covers
The Cracks Duet is a love story that, as the author has mentioned, spans over 10 years and the complete story arc is a perfect second chance romance. It’s also a story about one true loves and soulmates.
When Evelyn met Dylan she was a little idealistic and romantic, always had a hopeful and positive outlook on life. Dylan was the total opposite of her. But somehow they were perfect for each other. This first installment in their story will take you on a sweet journey, bring a smile to your face, and wrap you in a romantic haze. Until the bubble burst and life catches up to them changing the course of their lives completely. You could say that A CRACK IN EVERYTHING is the before. And the next installment will be the after.
What I love about L.H. Cosway’s characters is the fact that they feel very real. Evelyn and Dylan felt so familiar from the very beginning of this story as if I had known them my whole life. They’re so unique and definitely not like other characters you might’ve read before. They’re not perfect, they make mistakes and bad decisions, but you still love them for it. There’s an ease in which the relationships in this story are woven, from the friendships to the romance. I absolutely adored the core group of friends and the side characters just as much as the main couple.
However, I was expecting this to be a darker read for some reason and I was both happy and sad that it wasn’t. I’m a masochist, what can I say? I kept thinking there should’ve been more being thrown at these characters and in the end that’s why I couldn’t give this a higher rating even though I was so in love with it.
I’m so happy that these are being released so close together because the ending of this will have you wanting to read the next one right away. In much need of that light that it promises. Can’t wait.
