Defiant Queen is solidifying its fight in dethroning Beneath This Mask as my favorite Meghan March read to date! The blindfolds have come off and we are finally seeing the depth of what lies within Lachlan Mounts heart, mind, and soul. This second installment in the Mount Trilogy has left me intrigued and anxiously awaiting its conclusion in Sinful Empire.
Within this second release we come to see as Keira falls deeper for Lachlan and vice versa. Their relationship begins to flourish and becomes more than just sex and manipulation. Both parties continue to battle their growing affection for each other much to their dismay. This read was quick, hot, and as entertaining as its predecessor. I personally find it to be a bit short, but I will preface that by saying again E-serials and cliffhangers are qualities in books that I do not care for. Defiant Queen ends with another cliffhanger that I will admit I found predictable. I am like a child waiting for Santa Claus to pay me a visit and give me all the goodness that I hope Sinful Empire will be. For those that have not started to read this trilogy I recommend you do as with this installment Ms. March has ensured that I will be impatiently waiting for the conclusion of Keira and Lachlan’s story in Sinful Empire.

I go through genre phases at times but will read just about anything romance with the exception of NA/YA which I tend to stay away from. I have read some romances with MM roles however it is not what I prefer unless there is a Menage MMF relationship. The vast availability of talented work by so many authors and all at the click of a button make it feel like it’s Christmas every day and my wallet feels it as well, though sometimes some books I buy feel like lumps of coal in my stocking. I am trying to get on track with using Goodreads so I can keep it all straight. I live for the moments when I can lay in the sun on a beautiful island destination with my family, a tropical drink nearby, and my trusty paperwhite in hand, or just spending quality time with great friends, family or a book on my nook or kindle!
