Interview with UTC Gals: Angela and Francesca

Posted May 20, 2017 by Under the Covers Book Blog in Interviews, Under the Covers / 41 Comments

I know you guys have been waiting six long years for this, but finally we have decided to give you, our loving audience, an insight into the minds of the UTC team. Kind of. It all evolved from the idea of us interviewing each other…then we decided, what if we answered the questions for the other person? After all this time together, would we answer the questions correctly, how well do we know each other? Well, we will let you be the judge of that! Here are the questions and answers and our commentary on our answers. Welcome to the insanity of the UTC gals!

Francesca as answered by Angela

If you had the choice of any author to write you into their books who would it be and which series?

Black Dagger Brotherhood, of course. Especially the first ten book of the series. I would also like to have Suzanne and Angela with me. It will be entertaining to see them fight over Wrath.

Francesca’s feedback: I always grab the popcorn when Angela and Suzanne fight over the same men.

Important question…Chocolate: Dark, Milk or White?

Milk chocolate

 Francesca’s feedback: YES!

If you could pick any series to be brought to life on screen which would it be?

BDB and Mercy Thompson. Kim Harrison’s Hollows almost made to the TV screen. Unfortunately, it only got as far as filming.

Francesca’s feedback: I was soooo bummed when The Hollows pilot didn’t get picked up.  But they probably would’ve made some cheesy effects and ruined the series.  I think BDB would be ruined on screen because you cannot cast the Brothers but…. Mercy Thompson that’s a great and interesting series.  Totally doable.  Give me Adam!

You are being sent to a desert island, which series do you take with you (and you mysteriously get sent each new book as it comes out!)

Hmmm.  THis is a tough one.  First thought was BDB, but with the last book not being my fave, I’m having second thoughts.  So, maybe I’ll give Kenyon’s Dark Hunter World.  There’s plenty of books to keep me entertained and Angela says I have to so what the hey.

Francesca’s feedback: LMAO ok finally I’ll have to cave and read the Dark Hunters! *sigh*

Ebooks or Paperbacks?

Ebooks. It’s just easier to read with my kindle. Though the paperbacks are prettier on my shelves.

Francesca’s feedback: *nods* Technology is a beautiful thing.

If any character could come to life to romance you, which character would you chose?

I’m in love with Drew Jagger from Vi Keeland’s Ego Maniac. This guy is my top book boyfriend for 2017. Just look at the book cover, you’ll know what I mean.

Francesca’s feedback: Good one!  Drew is super sexy.  And OMG there are so many to choose from in my harem πŸ˜‰ I’m sitting here salivating.

Favourite genre?

I was totally into PNR and UF but lately, I’ve been reading more contemporary. But I consider myself an all around kind of girl. I’ve even had my eyes on thrillers now and then.

Francesca’s feedback: I am an all around kinda gal, love dabbling in all different genres.  However, I’m burned out on contemporary so this year my goal was less contemporary more PNR and UF.

Which two authors would you like to see collaborate together?

Well, naturally I’d like to see my fave authors collaborate; Good match would be Gena Showalter and Kresley Cole. Maybe Ilona Andrews and Patricia Briggs. That would be a fun mash up of books.

Francesca’s feedback: AWESOMESAUCE!  Gimme gimme gimme!

Last meal you made?

Umm, can’t recall but I love to cook. Mostly healthy meals. I have been eyeing Angela’s Spicy Cheetos and thinking I should take a break and have that for breakfast.

Francesca’s feedback: I am thinking I should try Angela’s Spicy Cheetos as well… but for now, I’ll just go stuff my face with pizza

Which book do you not think gets the attention it deserves, and which book do you think gets more attention than it deserves?

More attention than it deserves:  Hmmm, Not so much the book but I think Qhuinn from The Chosen is getting more attention than he deserves. *this is a personal opinion so please don’t argue*.   I think Alexa Riley could use less attention as well as that Maas book Angela keeps talking about. LOL

Deserves more attention: Kerrigan Bryne also needs more attention.

Francesca’s feedback: LOL was that an Angela answer?  I can’t really comment on the love/hate for Maas since I’ve never read a book by her.  Maybe I should try?  And hell yeah, Kerrigan Byrne deserves more attention!

Angela as answered by Annie

If you had the choice of any author to write you into their books who would it be and which series?

BDB of course. And I’d be Wrath’s TRUE Shellan. (Sorry Beth). And then I would have a needing period

Angela’s feedback: Sorry. NOT Sorry, k Beth or Suzanne!  Wrath simply try to placate your crazy tendencies. (hide’s behind Wrath while copping a feel)

Suzanne’s feedback: BACK OFF, we all know Wrath is mine *shakes fist*

Important question…Chocolate: Dark, Milk or White?

Milk chocolate! I don’t like dark chocolate much.

Angela’s feedback: I like a lot of dark things but dark choc is not one of them.

If you could pick any series to be brought to life on screen which would it be?

BDB comes to mind first! But the Dark Hunter series by Sherrilyn Kenyon would also be cool to see on the big screen, especially Ash’s story. But I wouldn’t mind seeing Darynda Jones’ Charley Davidson series too.

Angela’s feedback:  Annie knows me too well.  Ash and Reyes…yes please

You are being sent to a desert island, which series do you take with you (and you mysteriously get sent each new book as it comes out!)

Everything is about J.R. Ward here. But if we’re stepping away from PNR and UF for a moment, I’d pick some YA books from Kiersten White and Mary E. Pearson.

Angela’s feedback:  OMGsh, yes! and both White and Pearson will have books coming out from my fave series.

Ebooks or Paperbacks?

Ebooks (as long as I don’t sit and break my kindle while taking a selfie. Paperback takes too much effort to read. My hand gets tired of holding the book open.

Angela’s feedback:  Waaah.  My selfies has gotten me in trouble more than once and yes, that includes the death of my kindle.  Which was revived by my DH.

If any character could come to life to romance you, which character would you choose?

Wrath (BDB). Reyes (Charley Davidson). Ash (Dark Hunters) Tamlin (A Court of Thorns and Roses). YES I’M TEAM TAMLIN!!

Angela’s feedback:  oh yes…. and they have romanced me more than once in my fantasy life. *wags eyebrows*

Favourite genre?

My first love is PNR/UF. But I’ve been really enjoying some YA titles lately. Soon I’ll be reading some M/M AHAHAHAHAHAHA

Angela’s feedback:  I can’t get enough of YA books lately.  I don’t know why I refused them for some time.  *ignoring the m/m comment* *sticks tongue out at Annie*

Which two authors would you like to see collaborate together?

What if I took hotties from all my favourite series and put them into one book? It would be just one big hottie harem!

Angela’s feedback:  Yes and me as the only heroine.

Last meal you made?

Does Flaming Hot Cheetos count as a meal?

Angela’s feedback: Nuff said.

Which book do you not think gets the attention it deserves, and which book do you think gets more attention than it deserves?

One that deserves more attention? I like Cecy Robson, Kim Law and Keri Lake just to name a few. And the one that gets more attention than it deserves? That’s easy. Sarah J Maas A COURT OF MIST AND FURY. That book…*shakes head*

Angela’s feedback: ACOMAF. WTF. SMH.

Charley and reyes!!! I was bummed about the hollows, too, but I have a feeling it would’ve been too cheesy to enjoy.

Yes! ITA! Too much attention was given to Qhuinn. Time to move on.

I prefer dark chocolate, but hey. If it’s chocolate…..I’m not turning it down!

Wrath – sigh. Putting BDB on either the big or small screen wouldn’t do it justice. No way would they be able to cast The Brothers.

I love the Charley Davidson series by DJ!!! It’s so funny to me that you are all such big fans of BDB. I was too. Lately, I’ve fallen quite behind. The last one I read was The King…and it took me almost three years. The outcome of it was amazing, it just took me forever to get there.

These posts have been great to read.
While I have years full on my kindle, I think I’m going to switch back to my paper for a while. Electronic may be more convenient, but books are lighter and easier on the eyes.
