” I found it inoffensive and I was just a bit bored”
~ Under the Covers
Sarah’s to-do list is massive and she has no time for guys, what with raising her little sister and trying to deal with her mentally ill mother…not to mention going through college and holding down a job. So when she meets Zac and all three of his dogs she doesn’t know quite where to fit him in. But Zac’s gentle persistence is almost irresistible, especially when she realises he is her ultimate kryptonite…a geek.
This isn’t my usual kind of read, one because it is New Adult and I have so many issues with this genre that it is a whole different post, and two, cutesy romances aren’t normally my thing. But, I was in the mood for something different, something I wouldn’t usually pick up and I do love it when a character has an adorable pet so I decided to give it a try. The result of this little experiment although not overwhelmingly negative I wouldn’t term a success either.
If you like cute New Adult romances with minimum angst and geeky hero than Letting Go is definitely something that you need to pick up. For myself though, I found it inoffensive and I was just a bit bored, it had it’s moments where it made me smile, but I can’t say it has managed to change my mind about New Adult, or encouraged me to look at more books in this genre. It was sweet though and had a few hot scenes so if you want something easy to relax with this could be the book for you.
Letting Go hasn’t put me off my quest to expand my reading into genres I generally ignore, but I can’t say that it has been a success story either. I shall continue on!

Annnnnd I will stop myself there, before I start waxing lyrical about my love of historical romance and fantasy as well; no one needs to know about my elf fantasies. As you can tell, I adore and day dream about most romance genres, and my three big loves are 1) reading about romance 2) writing about romance and 3) talking about romance with my gals. Which, is why I love Under the Covers so much, I get all my bookish needs satisfied and don’t get judged when I talk about my favourite characters like they are real people. Which they are right?
