Charmingly Yours is a mixture of The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants and Sex in the City.  Though it’s for an older audience, this light-hearted read is perfect for readers who enjoy stories of friendship and romance that easily sweeps you off your feet.

Charmingly Yours starts off very emotional when one of Rosemary’s close friends passed away. But even from the other side, her friend always had something to say. This time, it’s a request for her and the rest of the group to go on a specific adventure to follow their dreams. In Rosemary’s case, she is to explore on her own and go outside of her overbearing mom’s watchful eyes.

Rosemary takes a chance to New York for a quick mini vacay while she house sits for her cousin. While in New York, the plan is to go outside her comfort zone and live. She did just that. She will even try her luck in dating a guy she just met in the streets of Little Italy.

I loved the matchmaking Talley did in this story. I think Rose and Sal are a perfect match. They are opposites yet they seem to be a perfect fit. They bring out the best in each other and because they met, they both learned to stand up on their own. They were flirty, fun, and they made a very sweet couple.

I enjoyed the overall storyline. I found the coming of age and stepping away from your parent’s protection relatable and I found myself laughing at the similarities I went through while in college. The series will continue to the next friend, Jess who recently became a divorcee. Looks like her story will be of second chances which I love to read about. Perfectly Charming is scheduled to come out in September of this year. I’m hoping it will be just as good as this book if not better.

About Liz Talley

From the time she learned to read, Liz had a fascination with books. As a child she read Little Golden Books instead of napping. And, oh, the first time she read a romance – The Thornbirds – she was hooked. She ate up the SuperRomances on the shelves of her aunt’s used bookstore, borrowed her grandmother’s Boons and Mills Medical Romances (loved those nurses’ caps) and snuck her dad’s westerns so she could read the “romantic parts” (which lasted about a page). She inhales books, no doubt about it.

Of course, it never occurred to her to write a book until her college roommate said, “You read so many of those things, why don’t you write one?” The idea stuck and in 2010 her first book debuted. Now instead of reading romances, she’s writing them.

A finalist in both the Romance Writers of America’s Golden Heart contest and Rita awards, Liz is a member of NOLA Stars and often blogs on the 2009 Golden Heart blog – She loves strawberries, fishing, retail therapy and is a Virgo. Liz married her high school sweetheart and has two smart, beautiful boys. When not writing contemporary romances, she can be found working in the flowerbed or doing laundry.

I am young at heart and a die hard romantic living in California.I am happily married to a man who understands my love for reading, blogging and my book boyfriends. I have two beautiful girls who are also avid readers but forbidden to any of my books.I like running, CrossFit and eat healthy but not necessarily good at it.My motto is “I have the right to choose my calories” and often, my choice of poison is a bag of Flammin’ Hot Cheetos.

I coblog and review here at Under the Covers and occasionally review for Hot Listens.I love to read PNR, UF, Contemporary, New Adult, and Romantic Suspense. Occasionally, I will venture to Erotica, BDSM reads and rarely Historical Romance. There are some sub-genres that I don’t always enjoy, but I’m open to stepping out of my comfort zone. For the most part, as long as there’s a hint of romance, I’m pretty much in.
