Hi Katy! Welcome to Under the Covers! So you’ve written book three in the Manwhore series, LADIES MAN. Can you please tell us more about the book?
Thank you so much for having me over! Absolutely, I’d love to talk about LADIES MAN. Tahoe and Gina were first introduced as side characters in the first two Manwhore books (and the extra little novella), and from the moment I spotted those two, I knew they shared something special – something undeniable and electric. I couldn’t wait to dive into their story and find out what that was. Well. Ladies Man could possibly be my favorite book I’ve written, thanks to those two.
Fans are dying to see more Tahoe! What do you think is it about him in particular that makes him so alluring?
Oh, he’s a beast! He’s cocky, confident, he knows how to laugh, he’s a bit of a teaser, and he is sexy as hell.
How would you describe the heroine in 3 words?
Brassy. Vulnerable. (I know these two almost oppose each other, but she’s complex!) So yes, complex.
What was your biggest obstacle to overcome when writing LADIES MAN?
The timeline. Because this book spans more than just a few months, I had to be sure I was following the times accurately.
Do you have a favorite quote or scene that isn’t too spoilery and can share with us?
“I’m not a one-night-stand kind of girl, which is why I’m giving you the chance only a few others have ever had. One night with me. Happy birthday.”
He scowls as he towels off his chest. “Is this some sort of joke?”
He straightens as he wraps the towel around his hips, his lips quirking sardonically. “How many?”
“What? How many guys?”
“I…well, two, and my ex, Paul. But that wasn’t a one-night stand; we were together for two years.”
“In either case, that’s nowhere near enough for you to recover after a night with me.”
Can’t ignore the elephant in the room… THAT COVER! But all your covers are always so good. Which is your favorite?
THIS ONE! I adore this cover. I think it captures the rawness of Tahoe just with the look in his eyes alone.
If you had to describe LADIES MAN in a tweet (140 characters or less) what would you say?
A girl with a broken heart. A man with a thousand one-night stands. And a friendship that can barely hide their desire for each other.
What is your favorite romance trope to read about and what’s the last book you read with it that you loved?
I love friends to lovers stories, forced proximity stories, and alphas chasing the heroines stories. I suppose I just love all romances, it’s not really the trope that calls to me but the story and characters. My last read, more like re-read, was ME BEFORE YOU by Jojo Moyes. Love it to pieces.
If you had to write a warning label for yourself… what would it be?
Just Be warned: object may be fiercer than she appears. Simple. 😀
What’s next for Katy Evans?
I’m working on the next Manwhore series book, Callan’s story (with Tahoe’s sister, oops!), and then hope to tackle a new series for later this year.
Released: April 26th 2016
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Series: Manwhore #3
He’s not the guy you date.
He’s the one night stand.
You’d think this man who sent hot looks my way, who called me succulent, would want to strip me bare and spread me out on his bed like every other woman in Chicago.
Except, he passed on my offer….
Just like I once passed on his.
He’s wary, like I am.
He’s broken, like I am.
And everyone knows two broken parts can’t ever make a whole.
So I try to distract myself with dating.
Tahoe and I are strictly friends. He doesn’t think my new beau is good enough—he doesn't think any man is, especially himself.
The more time Tahoe and I spend together, the more confused I feel.
I'm trying to open up to love.
But I'm quickly realizing that the only man I want is the stubborn, cocky, unattainable playboy Tahoe Roth.
The one my mother warned me about.
The one my body craves.
The only one who will surely break my heart.
