Dance Card - UTC

Seduce-Me-at-SunriseDance Card - Kev Merripan2I loved Kev’s bitter confession of love to Win. It was so raw and revealing and completely passionate! As I said before, Kev is a by-the-book and thorough kind of guy. But his love for Win is sooo irrational and out of control that when he does profess his love, it’s laced with torment and pain. He says,

“All the fires of hell could burn for a thousand years and it wouldn’t equal what I feel for you in one minute of the day. I love you so much there is no pleasure in it. Nothing but torment. Because if you could dilute what I feel for you to the millionth part, it would still be enough to kill you. And even if it drives me mad, I would rather see you live in the arms of that cold, soulless bastard than die in mine.”

That guts me every time.

Devil in WinterDance Card - St. Vincent2Sebastian, Lord St. Vincent makes himself look like a villain, when in fact he’s not. He makes mistakes, but he
realizes his faults and after his transformation, he isn’t afraid to apologize for his rash decisions.

Westcliff explains this perfectly:

“The situation was extraordinary. How someone like Evangeline Jenner could have wrought such a change in St. Vincent, the most worldly of men, was difficult to understand. However, Westcliff had learned that the mysteries of attraction could not always be explained through logic. Sometimes the fractures in two separate souls became the very hinges that held them together.”

Dreaming of YouDance Card - Derek Craven2Derek is the most haunted, the most broken out of all the heroes she has written. Kleypas has me laughing out loud at some parts and my heart breaking in others. I just love the fact that Kleypas is able to create such vividly real characters with a soul. Derek Craven has definitely topped my list of favourite LK heroes along with Kev Merripen from the Hathaways, Sebastian St. Vincent from the Wallflowers and McKenna!

There was also the occasional bite of resentment when he realized she had become the source of all pleasure to him, all comfort and peace. She was the first human being he had ever needed. He had lost his freedom in a way he had never imagined possible, bound more securely by her love than by a mile’s length of iron chains

When-He-Was-Wicked
Dance Card - Michael Stirling2Michael Stirling isn’t typically the first favorite hero of the Bridgerton series but he really is the perfect hero. I loved the internal battle he waged within himself. There was lust and love on one side and honor and loyalty on the other. It was interesting to witness how a man could still love even after what had happened to him.

In every life there is a turning point. A moment so tremendous, so sharp and clear that one feels as if one’s been hit in the chest, all the breath knocked out, and one knows, absolutely knows without the merest hint of a shadow of a doubt that one’s life will never be the same.
For Michael Stirling, that moment came the first time he laid eyes on Francesca Bridgerton.

Taming-an-Impossible-RogueDance Card - Keating Blackwood1Keating for me was the major reason why I loved this book. Right from the start, hewas an honorable man. Though he may have reasons to be mysterious, he was always upfront with Camille. He tells her his intentions and the reason why he wants to be her friend and I think this made him more likeable as a character. Though Camille and Keating start off as friends, it is obvious that they each wish to be something more.

againthemagicDance Card - John McKenna2*lusty sigh* McKenna, one of my favourite Lisa Kleypas heroes, which says a lot as there are many many to chose from, but no one else quite hits my heart (and other parts of me) quite like he does. He was born a stable boy but left and became a self made millionaire he simmers with intense passion and barely leashed energy but has only ever loved one woman:
She was not the girl he had once loved, he reminded himself grimly. That girl had never really existed. And yet it didn’t seem to matter. Aline was his curse, his fate, his consuming desire. He would never stop wanting her, no matter what she did, no matter how many oceans and continents he managed to put between them.

*lusty sigh* I wouldn’t mind being his fate and consuming desire…
RuthlessDance Card - Francis Rohan2If reformed rakes make the best husbands than Frances as the KING of all rakes will surely make the best husband. Frances is an exiled aristocrat with a past bloody and tragic past, who also happens to be deliciously wicked, devilishly handsome and just waiting for the right woman to come along and rock his world…
“Like it or not I seem to have grown a heart. I have absolutely no use for the damned thing, but there it sits, demanding Elinor. I can’t live without her.”

Raven Prince, TheDance Card - Edward De Raaf2Don’t you get bored of all those pretty Dukes and blandly handsome Viscounts? I know I do. So when Edward De Raaf charged into my world, bad temper, pock marked face and all, I knew I had found something special. Despite being gruff and rather abrupt, not to mention a little on the rough looking side, he has a big heart and an even bigger *ahem* brain and he has become one of my favourite heroes.
Dance Card - Ian Mackenzie2Madness of Ian Mackenzies, TheI love my man with a touch of crazy, and no one does a touch of crazy quite as sexily as Ian Mackenzie. His intense
focus is his both  hindrance and why he is referred to as the “Mad Mackenzie” but can also be incredibly hot especially when he switches his incredible focus to his lady love. So why go with sane, when a touch of mad is so much more interesting? With his uncanny and unexpected insight and his passionate love for his Beth, Ian is definitely someone I want on my dance card.

“We don’t fit in, you and me,” he said. “We’re both oddities no one knows what to do with. But we fit together.” He took her hand, pressed her palm to his, then laced their fingers through each other’s. “We fit.”

It’s been a while since I’ve read any historicals, I may need to add a few to my TBR pile. I loved the House of Pleasure series by Kate Pearce.

Great choices, though I haven’t read all these, yet. I’d throw in Jamie Fraser, too!
