Top Ten: Most Anticipated Books of 2016

Is it almost 2016 already? How time flies, it doesn’t seem so long ago that we were perusing 2015 to see what we were desperate to read. Now, we are bringing in 2016 and yet again we have a list a mile long of the books us gals at Under the Covers can’t wait to get our grubby mitts on. These are our top ten most anticipated reads of 2016!

Colbana Files # 5
by J.C. Daniels

Lets start our selves off with a little bit of action and adventure. Annie and I (Suz) are especially fans of this series by J.C. Daniels (aka Shiloh Walker), at first we loved the kick ass heroine and the dangerous and dangerously hot shifter love interest, but than dang it Daniels had to get our hearts involved as well. This is one we will be snatching up as soon as we can get it!

Due out March 2016!

The League #11
by Sherilyn Kenyon

This one is all me (Suz) I suppose I could have put Kenyon’s latest Chronicles of Nick or Dark Hunter novel, but screw it, I love her Sci-Fi and I have the keyboard. So voila! Your getting recommended the latest in The League series instead, sexy aliens + angst = lots of fun and angsty times, a formula that I apparently can’t get enough of if it is set in space.

Captive Prince #3
by C.S. Pacat

M/M Fantasy readers have been on their feet, waiting for this book to be released. It feels like it’s been a long time coming but the beginning of 2016 will be a happy time for many, especially if you’ve been dying to know what is going to happen to Laurant and Damon.

Due out February 2016!

Cassie Palmer #8
by Karen Chance

Soooo, once again this one is all me (Suz) HOWEVER, if the other girls would just give this series a go I know that they would love it as well, especially Annie. I reckon there would be many a text discussion debating the pros and cons of both Cassie’s vampire sugar daddy Mircea and her bestie grumpy wizard/Incubus Pritkin. I tells you, they are missing out.

circle6because of miss bridgertonBecause of Miss Bridgerton
Rokesbys #1
by Julia Quinn

This is another book Annie and I are excited about! We both LOVE Quinn’s Bridgerton series, no one does lighthearted and funny historical romances like she does. We are both excited to get back to the Bridgertons and can’t wait to pick this up, we fully expect to finish this with a smiles in our hearts and on our lips.

The Others #4
by Anne Bishop

Gruesome and sweet. Caring yet ruthless. Wild and civilised. Don’t you love a book of contradictions? This UF captured all of our attention and has continued to do so, with it’s savage world and characters, and yet sweet friendship-but-maybe-eventually-more relationship between our two favourite characters. If you want an UF that doesn’t quite fit the mould, pick this series up!

circle4Feverbornfeverborn spacerFever #8
by Karen Marie Moning

Of course FEVERBORN would make the list but the question was how far up on the list it would be. Since this is a collective list compiled with all of us at UTC in mind, Suz and I (Annie) had to sit down and try not to fight over where to place this book. For me, this book would definitely be in second position as my most anticipated book of the year but I’m thrilled to have it sit here. If you’re also anticipating these books, then you’re probably already as hooked on the series as I am!

Due out January 2016!

Mercy Thompson #9

by Patricia Briggs

We are in our Top Three now, and I had to add some Patricia Briggs. Not only for her kick ass covers, but every year she guarantees us a great read, her closely entwined series Mercy Thompson and Alpha & Omega give you a hit of romance and action. Her fantastic story building and plot development means you will never be bored. And her great writing means she will always pull you in. We anticipate this year will be no different.

The Ravenels #2
by Lisa Kleypas

Under the Covers love affair with Lisa Kleypas is not a secret. We are delighted to be having a steamy hot romance with her and it’s been going on for years. And so the introduction of her new historical romance series had us gushing more than an erotic romance heroine (verbally gushing you dirty minded people!). And so the second in this series is one we await with much bad mannered impatience, especially as one of us (yep me, Suz) made the fatal error of reading the excerpt…Never doing that again!

circle1The Beast
Black Dagger Brotherhood # 14
by J.R. Ward

Did you really expect anything else? Black Dagger Brotherhood is Under the Covers BEST SERIES EVER IN THE WORLD POSSIBLY THE UNIVERSE YE ABANDON ALL OBJECTIVITY HERE. So yep. We love it. And yes, we may have all booked off days from work so we can sit down and have some quality time with The Beast. This series just does it for us, the world, the characters the romance, the writing and all combined it results in such an intense and emotional read that we are left talking about it for the rest of the year. Bring on April!
