Welcome to the Riptide Publishing/L.A. Witt blog tour
for Running With Scissors!
Who are your favorite rock bands?
I had to giggle when I received this question. Anyone who’s been following me for any length of time probably knows the answer too, and that there’s no plural about it. Favorite rock bands?
No. No, no, no. There is only one. There are many bands who I love and would knock children over in order to obtain tickets, but one is definitely above the others.
I mean…
I’ve been to four concerts since 2010, every one of which required air travel. I’m going to a fifth in September. I’ve met the band at every concert, plus the lead singer at a screening for the band’s documentary. There’s a poster of the band in my office. A framed, autographed one in my living room, along with my VIP pass, tickets, and a guitar pick from the show I went to in 2010. I have a tattoo.
I even caught the lead singer’s cold after standing next to him for a couple of photos at back-to-back shows, and promptly brought said cold to GRL in 2013, where I gave everyone in attendance the most heinous case of con crud ever. (Sorry about that…)
I am, you could say, a fangirl. A card-carrying member of the Echelon.
Who the heck am I talking about?
30 Seconds to Mars, of course.
Favorite 30 Seconds to Mars songs:
- The Kill (as if that’s even a question…)
- Northern Lights
- Hurricane
- Conquistador
- Up in the Air
- L490
- Bad Romance
- Stronger
- Was it a Dream?
- Do or Die
So…what’s YOUR favorite band?
And if you’re a 30 Seconds to Mars fan, what’s your favorite song?

Eighteen months ago, drummer Jude Colburn made the biggest mistake of his life when he walked away from his band just as they were on the brink of success. Now, he’s got a second chance. The band’s bassist just quit, and Jude plays bass almost as well as he plays drums. The other band members aren’t thrilled, but they are desperate.
Running with Scissors needs him, but there’s one condition: no hooking up with bandmates. That’s what ruined things eighteen months ago, after all. Jude’s on board, but no one warned him about the drummer who replaced him. A.J. Palmer is shy and unassuming . . . until he hits the stage. He gets Jude’s attention from the first beat, and suddenly that “no hookups” rule isn’t so easy to follow.
Keeping secrets on a tour bus isn’t easy either, and it’s only a matter of time before the band catches on. When everything hits the fan, Jude has to choose: a second chance at the career he’s always regretted leaving, or a shot at the man of his dreams?

I was just listening to the kill on my run this morning… bon jovi, def leppard, survivor, volbeat, halestorm , godsmack
Now, that is true fanhood. Can’t say that I feel anywhere nearly as strong about a particular band. I like Bob Seger and His Silver Bullet Band, Kid Rock, Springstein.
Love reading rocker romances so I look forward to this one.
I’m not really a rock fan but I like some of Linkin Park’s songs
The Stones. I like ’em dirty so Keith is my man.
