Interview with Meghan Quinn

Welcome back to UTC! Since you’re last visit here, you’ve written a brand new book called NEWLY EXPOSED. Can you please tell us more about it and where did you come up with the idea to write about male models?

I would love to! Newly Exposed is about a guy named Adam who is desperate to make any kind of money (for valid reasons you will find out while reading) so he finds himself at a book cover casting, being asked absurd questions about his body and dare I say it…penis size. He finds friendship in one of the assistants, her name is Solo, and he quickly falls for her quirky and nerdy type personality. It’s the perfect poolside companion that will make you laugh and then say “awe,” the next minute. I highly recommend it. 🙂

I got the idea while talking to one of my friends about different male models that she kept sending me. She told me she wanted me to write a book about them, so I did. I guess I’m easy like that.

If you could write a one-line warning for this book, what would it be?

Beware: Male models will be infiltrating your e-reader August 18th.

that or…

If you like hot man muscles and swoon worthy, yet corny, male leads, than Newly Exposed is the book for you!

Is there a male model that you swoon over?

Too many, but my top two are Nick Bateman (obvs) and Stuart Reardon (tattoo God).

What was the biggest obstacle you had when writing this book? How did you overcome it?

Including a conflict between Adam and Solo, the main characters. I loved them a lot together and I know you can’t write a book that’s all cupcakes and glitter, you need some angst but I really didn’t want to mess with them, but I guess you don’t always get what you want. So I had to some up with a conflict that was detrimental but believable. I found that to be rather difficult because of my love for the characters.

What was the last book you read? Would you recommend it?

Wingmen (two books) by Daisy Prescott. I would HIGHLY recommend it. She is a fantastic writer and really knows how to make you fall in love with a bearded man. So good…go get it!!!

What are you currently working on?

Edits, blah. But I am also working on my final installment of my Hot-Lanta series. Hot-Lanta was my first ever series so I am sad to see it go but it’s time for their ending. I kill people – in the book that is. If you want to be emotionally traumatized as well as sent into a fit of giggles, Hot-Lanta is for you. Plus, since it’s my first series, you really get to see my growth as an author, it’s fascinating.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and sharing with our readers and congrats on the release of NEWLY EXPOSED!

Adam James is a corn-fed, Nebraska raised, piece of man meat with a chiseled body and baby face. He is in desperate need of a paycheck and will do just about anything to get one, including stripping down to his skivvies and lathering up in baby oil.

Solo Cohan is a quirky hipster with a strong work ethic, raised by two gay dads who are head over heels in love with Harrison Ford and Star Wars, hence the name, Solo. She works for Teeg Model Management, the same modeling agency that decides to book Adam as their next up and coming model. Sparks ignite between her and Adam the minute her baby oil soaked hand connects with his practically naked body.

Even though Solo can't stop thinking about Adam during photo shoots, she quickly and awkwardly, shows Adam her distaste for male models and her inability to engage romantically with them. Adam is captivated by her nerdy talk and peculiar tendencies and sets out to make it his mission to turn the Star Wars loving hipster to the dark side, where mingling with models is widely arousing.

About Meghan Quinn

When I was in high school I occasionally read books but was consumed by other teenage things so I didn’t take the time to appreciate a good book on a cloudy day, wrapped up in a blanket on the couch, besides “The Notebook” I made time to read the heartbreaking novel.
It wasn’t until I received a Kindle for Christmas one year that my world completely flipped upside down. When looking for books, I came across the Contemporary Romance genre and was sold and I haven’t turned back since.
You can either find my head buried in my Kindle, listening to inspiring heart ripping music or typing away on the computer twisting and turning the lives of my characters while driving my readers crazy with anticipation.
I am currently residing in beautiful Colorado Springs where the sun is always shining and there is a trail waiting to be hiked on every corner. I share a lovely and warm home with the love of my life and my five, four-legged children.
