“Though it has a slow beginning, Valentine was a fun read and I am excited to read the next installment.” ~ Under the Covers
Valentine is smooth as they get. Swept me right under my feet. Known as a womanizer and the biggest flirt but loyal to the bone. He has long been banned from his hometown and labeled a traitor. Along with his brothers in arms, they will prove their innocence.
Lady Mary Beckham is sure to marry her handsome knight but she just found out she is married to another; an arrangement made by her parents when she was a child. Her plans are to find this man, dissolve the marriage and get back to her bethroed. But in this journey, her life will take a major detour.
It was slow to start but Maria and Valentine’s adventures kept me reading. I enjoyed reading both of their backgrounds and bits of their pasts. Getting pieces of historical information was fascinating as well. Valentine was a perfect gentleman when he wanted to but also fierce when it came to survival. I found him intriguing especially when he refuse to react on his feelings towards Maria. It lead to a slow romance but I appreciated the absence of inta-love.
Though it has a slow beginning, Valentine was a fun read and I am excited to read the next installment.
