“The deeper issues in this story were really not addressed, and I think that’s where I find it lacking.” ~ Under the Covers
I was extremely excited to read this book. I’ve been having a thing lately for techy romance, and this story features two successful men who created huge tech companies. One buying out the other. One older than the other. I was definitely 100% in with that program. The execution just wasn’t believable for me, I’m sad to say.
I found Dylan very intriguing. He’s been married to his high school sweetheart for many years, have 3 kids with her even. But somewhere along the way in his marriage he realized he was attracted to men. While they still stayed together for the kids, their marriage was more of an arrangement of friendship. His wife had found another man to love. And he had never did anything about his feelings for men. Now in his late 30s and meeting a gay man who is out and proud and successful, he’s thrown in a scenario where he could explore, no questions asked.
Tristan on the other hand is a bit younger and built an empire. He’s never been one for hiding who he is, who and what he wants, and getting his way. I love how confident he is! But in my mind someone like him would have issues with some of the hang ups Dylan brings to the table. Still, I found Tristan’s attitude grating on me at times.
The deeper issues in this story were really not addressed, and I think that’s where I find it lacking. Dylan is going through a lot of turmoil. He’s never experimented with another man. He’s completely devoted his life to his kids and until they go off to college he didn’t want to consider doing anything about his identity issues. And in a matter of 2 days and a good dose of insta love all of that changes and some heavy decisions are made. Add in to that how the kids react to the mix, and that’s why I gave this story the rating I did.
SECRET is still hot. It is a sweet story even if a bit bitter sweet.

I get easily distracted by pictures of sexy guys and have tons of book boyfriends.I keep all my alpha males chained to my basement and guard them fiercely.*Back off bitches*I like to see Jason Momoa as a lot of those boyfriends, because ….. mmmmmmm JASON.MOMOA!
I’m a part time graphic designer (yes, everything you see on UTC has been done by me), run my husband's business from home and on a good day I’m a self appointed superwoman (she who can do it all).I love blogging with my girls and I couldn’t do it any other way!My first love is everything paranormal, but in the past few years I’ve re-learned to love contemporary romance.Every once in a while I like to mix things up with a historical romance, a steampunk or an LGBT book.Because I need variety to avoid book slumps.I don’t always need an HEA although I prefer one, and I love authors that can rip my heart out and make me ugly cry.
